Very pleased to say this visit finds it much improved and virtually back to it's old self. Eggs cooked perfectly, coffee good and service prompt and courteous. Very pleased to have the old Riverdeck back!! Hence the ammended review and 2 stars back to 5...Yah!! Disappointed! This is our regular stop on the drive from Melbourne to Sydney. With 2 kids at USyd, something we do quite regularly. I don't know if because of COVID or they have changed hands but no comparison to what it was. Photos and menu are what is WAS like! Now the Eggs 'Benedict' had no muffin...or even toast! The eggs were overcooked...not the slightest bit runny! Instead of bacon (was free range, locally produced before) got slices of roast pork which was dry and almost unpleasant. The coffee was very ordinary. The 'freshly squeezed' (maybe) orange juice was OK....but so it should be at $9! I am REALLY hoping this was just a glitch. I always looked forward to my breakfast stop here.

The service with the front of house was absolutely wonderful. We had a whole gaggle of children that meant it took quite a long time for us to organise food, and order, but the waitress was extremely patient with us. No mistakes were made on the front of house's behalf. I had the pasta, which was amazing! The sauce was gentle and soft, and not overpowering. The flavour was delicious, and it complimented all the other ingredients wonderfully, especially the goat's cheese tortellini. One of my friends did order a beef burger without jalepenos due to an allergy, and the burger had jalepenos in it, which was a mistake on back of house. We asked for them to cook it again, and they were happy to. However, when it was brought back out again, the burger was all new, but the patty was the old one, still having a bite out of the patty. We expected an entirely new one to be cooked, as the patty could've been contaminated by the jalepenos. Front of house were deeply apologetic, and asked if my friend wanted a new meal, which she refused. They also asked if she wanted a cake, and she didn't want one, and just asked for a bowl of chips. The bowl of chips were delicious, to their credit, and they also took all my friend's drinks, and meal off the bill. Apart from this slight mishap, the staff were lovely and friendly, the food was delightful and delicious, despite me not like asparagus, I enjoyed all the ingredients combined with the amazing sauce. My little brother has the cheeseburger and chips which he enjoyed and an ice-chcolate that was amaizng! Everyone enjoyed the lunch out, but I personally wouldn't go myself again, as the price is quite high. Perfect for a fancy lunch out where you have to spurge and spoil yourself though!

I went to this lovely little cafe for a lunch. When we got seated quickly I realised that the options were not very appealing on the menu and were pricey. The breakfast menu looked more appealing but we’re not available at the time due to me not being there in the morning. When we finally ordered after looking at the few options on the menu we waited approximately an hour or more for our meals, I understand that this could’ve been because out of the six of us one of us got a steak but I don’t think it would’ve taken it THAT long. The cafe was cold but despise that the atmosphere was nice and had a nice view. Overall the food was good but in my opinion they added too much salad unnecessarily. If I was to go here again I would tell them my order before coming in because the wait was too long for my liking. This isn’t a negative review or experience it was just a bit different to my other experiences.

The River Deck is in a prime location on the banks of the Murray River. But to be honest it takes more than that when your trading as an eatery. The table arrangements were what I would consider cramped. There was a lot of noise which is not the eateries fault however it took away reason we chose to eat there. The other issue was once seated our order was failed to be taken and after people who sat down beside us well after we arrived we had to get a staff members attention. Some may consider the prices reasonable but for what was presented I didn't think so. While I don't want to dissuade anyone from trying it but I won't.

Last minute decision to stop for breakfast was well worth the deviation from oir mornings plans. Set in parkland this stunning building faces the river and is clean and modern in design. the outdoor deck is rhe perfect respite from the sun or the air conditioned interior. service was quick and attentive with some the staff engaging really well with patrons. then there's the menu! wow! The omelette with its Indian inspired flavours is off the charts with flavour, generosity and temperature. the mushrooms on toast too was huge with a generosity that means lunch can be bypassed too. highly recommend and will be back!

Beautiful location on the river. Dog friendly a number of vegan options. The river is fun, lots of swimmers and kayaks floating down the river.
