Having booked a 4 night stay in this a cheaper Motel we arrived without too many expectations. ||Checked in and upon receiving our room key proceeded to settle in only to be greeted by an enormous ashtray at the bottom of the stair to the upstairs rooms and unfortunately adjacent to our front door accompanied by the gentle wafting of stale cigarette smoke from the smokers area. ||Did the tour of our room and were a little underwhelmed with the state of the bathroom facilities which were by no means clean and again filled with the pungent smell of stale tobacco as the bathroom was situated pretty much under the stair, note also this motel advertises as a non-smoking premises !! Furthermore the fridge door wouldn't shut properly and although advertised as having FREE wi-fi, unfortunately for us connection to the wi-fi was still not achievable after various attempts on the various devices we had with us. Receptionist unable to shed any light on that at all. ||After a discussion with the receptionist regarding fridge, wi-fi etc and she inspected the fridge door personally, we were offered a room situated immediately above our current abode which we accepted, moved all our goods and chattels and re-settled in. This room was to be fair somewhat more up to date and at first glance, cleaner.||Wife wanted to go for a swim in the advertised pool -- NOT available, we further learned that the advertised free breakfast was -- NOT available and the advertised restaurant was -- NOT available. I'd hazard a guess here and say it hadn't operated for some time but all these facilities are still advertised as being available.||Days 1, 2 and 3 went ok no hitch, day four was one for the books !!! ||Received early morning call from unknown mobile which I ignored and went to message. Thirty seconds later received text message from the motel advising us to vacate our room as we were being evicted as a result of her accusing us of having a dog in our room and we had therefore breached the house rules and furthermore she has cctv footage of our supposed wrong doing ???? Just for the record we had no dog with us !!!||Where does this person get this from ?? ||My wife immediately went down to set the record straight but was met in reception by a very brash and aggressive female manager ( or owner ) of the property who was not about to listen but shouted her down and told her to get out and she was calling the police !!!||Needless to say this all went from bad to worse, we just packed up our gear and vacated but not before I also went to reception to return the key only to be met by the same arrogant, disrespectful and loud individual advising us we would not be receiving any refunds but would be charged the full accommodation costs plus cleaning costs for the room which she claimed she had been told to do by the local police. ||Note here that to date no dog had turned up or been seen anywhere and they had also watched us pack the car !! ||After advising her of our position in this, and being wrongly accused and unlawfully evicted from the motel and that we would not be accepting of any additional costs past 3 nights accommodation this same person then proceeded to try and negotiate a deal with me for a partial refund of costs !!!!!||This whole experience has been somewhat surrealistic and we could well have done without it. ||Needless to say we will NEVER darken their...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE; I called the contact number at 10:12 pm, ringing to confirm if this motel is open 24/7 and if I can check in at any time. My friend and I were driving through from Jindabyne and thought this place would be the perfect spot for us to stop over and stay the night before we continued to Melbourne. A lady answered and advised us to book online and that we could just show up when we wanted and use the self-check-in service at the Motel. Great, we booked a room and continued driving. Upon arriving at this Motel we attempted the self-check-in, this was approximately at 1:30 am Monday. The self-check-in computer told us that the room was not ready and we were unable to check in. I then pressed the intercom button for help, multiple times, till when the same lady whom I spoke to beforehand on the phone finally answered, who had clearly been sleeping, told us sorry we could not check in it was too late then hung up on us. Confused, since she had previously told us it was 24/7 and this motel is clearly advertised as 24/7 on the premises, I repeatedly pressed the intercom button to get the lady's attention till she eventually responded, threatened to call the police on us, and told us to leave as it is too late to check in and then hung up on us again. This lady was clearly sleeping and too lazy to wake us and give us the keys we had paid for and they had promised us. I had no choice but to keep pressing this button as I needed a place to stay that night and could not afford to purchase another room elsewhere as I had spent my last money on the stay at your motel. Eventually, a man, who also had been sleeping, advised me to stop harassing him, that the police had been called, and I could also hear the lady in the background. Appalled and disgusted at this customer service, my friend and I waited to expect the police to come because at least we weren't doing anything wrong. At approximately 3 am the lady opened the door gave us a key to a room, and told us she had reported us to the police. I am disgusted with this treatment and believe I deserve a refund. I spent over an hour sitting and waiting for their staff to not be lazy and get out of bed and give me the product I...
Read moreThe room was small and old with a strong cleaning product smell, had to air it out when I arrived but acceptable for the price.
I was only stopping in for the night to break up the drive from Melbourne to Sydney, my plan was to do some work from the room and make a few phonecalls. As my phone has poor reception in this town I picked a place with wifi so I could do some reports while on the phone. Unfortunately this place does not have wifi in the rooms, only the car park. It was advertised with wifi in the room. I asked to be moved to another room as I really needed the wifi to do my work, they told me all the other rooms were booked (this was obviously not true as there was very few cars and it was a Monday night). They also acted like it was odd that my room could not get internet reception. The router was in the reception and my room is right next to the reception so I don't think any of the rooms have Wi-Fi. They suggested I do my work in the car park...
While this would not normally be a big deal, I had phone calls booked in that I had to move to the next day. They did apologized and offered to refund the prepaid price.
I had to leave early in the morning to get to a location with wifi or a good 4g connection to make the calls I had moved from the night before so I was unable to talk to the staff in the morning as the reception was not yet open.
I sent an email later that day asking if they need any information from me to process the refund, I didn't hear back so sent two more emails over the following days with still no response.
It wasn't until I called them that they informed me that they had changed their mind and would no longer be refunding the cost of the hotel room.
Once again no Wi-Fi is not normally a big deal, but they had advertised all the rooms as having Wi-Fi when clearly no rooms do, they then lied and told me all the rooms were full when they clearly were not. On top of that they ignored my emails and then when I called they pretend they never offered a refund.
Staff were friendly at the time but the following customer service was...
