Hume Inn Motel Albury — Hotel in South Albury

We stayed here for two nights in mid-November 2023 after reading good reviews. Bed was reasonably comfortable and room was clean, albeit needing a facelift. Was expecting a quiet stay as it was opposite the park and on the edge of town. We arrived at our room first night to find next door unit had two bairs of boots on mat outside their door, accompanied by a pair od dicarded socks!!! Local hoons used road at front of motel as a hot rod strip both nights! First night at 2am a couple had a huge swearing fight outside our room and female let off fire extinguisher at person she was arguing with! Someone called cops who turned up 10 mins after they drove off. Second night bus load of people sat outside; loud talking till late, while a bunch of young people had a sort of party, screamed and called out down the other end! Not much sleep was had either night. No water in the pool! Promised free bottle of wine with booking, did not happen! Would have given no stars but for Roberto the chef of pizza restaurant at front of motel and staff who were just lovely Sat night! Very disappointing stay....

The only pet friendly accommodation in Albury on Grand Final afternoon so I thoght Beggar's can’t be choosers ! But wow how wrong was I ! After my last two hotel visits while passing through town I wasn’t expecting to be pleasantly surprised at all But the Hume Inn delivers amazing value for money and was Surprisingly very pleasant, clean, quiet and with spacious rooms ! Probably also the most comfortable bed I can recall sleeping in, and normal comfort pillows ! Not too thick, thin, hard or soft ! The bathroom was also spacious with instant hot water and good pressure As new split system AC, and electrical appliances even tapware looked brand new Under cover Carpark conveniently right outside my door and situated at the back so peaceful and quiet Great location with park and river opposite and easily accessible to dozens of cafes and restaurants Will DEFINITELY stay again ! And...

Horrible experience, manager was very rude, wifi doesn’t work, shower leaks at the tap and the actual floor into your bedroom, tried to overcharge and charge extra fees, would call you late at night when trying to sleep, shower floor leaks into the main room, wifi didn’t work, lady at the desk was very helpful and kind but nothing could balance out that male manager. Incredibly rude and wasn’t even going to leave a review as to not hurt a little country hotel but the phone calls haven’t stopped even since we have left so people need to be aware of this beforehand. Do not take your pet whether it’s in the car or stays at the showground for the shows you will be harassed and told “it doesn’t work even matter if your pet is at home” you need to pay, like what does that mean lol.
