At first glimpse, she looks like a modern trendy bar-just as Google suggests. Aesthetically, she has a lot going for her. I can't really say much about, well...anything else really.

I had (tried to) book/booked for 10 people for my birthday, through email correspondence weeks in advance, only to have my full party of 10 show and no booking to be had.

Go the extra mile. Don't assume your booking is done, if you confirm numbers, time and seating/area arrangements when asked and don't get a response back, or even an apology for the mishap for that matter. As if planning a birthday party would be that stress-free. Lesson learned.

Staff seemingly did what they could to squeeze us into a space, on a busy Saturday night, at least for drinks. I appreciated that much and acknowledged the effort that was put into getting us this far and decided to stay. Everyone bought drinks. The cocktails were enjoyable. Little did we know we wouldn't want to stay to finish them though.

We pulled some strings and got a table eventually, an hour and a half in. Would we have been given the same attention if we hadn't had been able to pull said strings? We'll never know. And one would argue that you shouldn't have to find out.

We sat, and were prepared to order off the menu before things really hit the fan. Words were exchanged between a member of staff and one of my guests. I won't speak for him (my guest) and what was said specifically and in what tone by this member of staff...but I'll put it like this - My standards and my guests' standards pertaining to customer service are higher than that of The Standard. And I'm hoping yours are too. It's not worth the risk.

We tried to be as respectful and cooperative throughout the duration we were there, all things considered. And even managed to drop money at the bar. If paying customers are going to be condescended...I'll leave the rest for your consideration.

We got a booking elsewhere and happily left and were looked after.

Thanks for having us The Standard, but we won't be returning, or recommending. And if asked, I won't be as considerate in expressing my experience to others as I have been, in this...

My partner and I visited The Standard for the first time over a month ago, and the experience we shared was beyond amazing. We’ve been back about five times since.

Firstly, the food was phenomenal. We ordered the beef short rib rendang curry, gluten free chicken wingettes, chinese broccoli and a side of the coconut rice. The chicken wingettes have been a fan favourite for us ever since. We’ve gone back several times purely just to order them alone—they’re that good! Super flavourful and delicious. The beef short rib with rendang glaze has been impossible to beat and believe me, we’ve tried. The balance of flavour is amazing, the meat was fall-apart and the glaze is to die for. The chinese broccoli has a beautiful sauce and fried shallots to go with and were a wonderful addition to the rest of our food, and the coconut rice was very well flavoured. Truly could not be happier with the flavour profile and sheer quality of the food here.

As for the service, there’s nothing we could fault; it was a beyond lovely experience. We were sat and waited on by Zoe, a gorgeous human being who was just that—human. I myself am a customer service coordinator where I work, and not once did Zoe’s service feel monotonous, scripted or automated. She gave us a a very personable experience and made us feel like a special case. Though it might sound a bit silly, she comes across as a real person who doesn’t go about customers as though it were a chore and it reflects heavily in the way my partner and I received it. Each time we go back, we find ourselves actively seeking her out. I truly could not commend her service more.

Overall, our experience with The Standard has been above and beyond. We have tried the sister venues and this place remains strongly at the top of our list. The only struggle we have is not going there...

The Standard in Northbridge is a true gem! I recently visited and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this fantastic establishment. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a stylish and modern ambiance that immediately sets a welcoming tone.

The menu at The Standard is diverse and creative, offering a range of dishes that cater to various tastes. I opted for the shared plates, and each dish was a delightful surprise. The flavours were rich and well-balanced, with fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. The crispy pork belly and the charred broccoli were particular standouts – absolutely delicious!

The drink selection is equally impressive. They have an extensive cocktail list, and the bartenders are clearly skilled at their craft. I tried a couple of their signature cocktails, and each one was perfectly mixed and bursting with unique flavours. Their wine and beer options are also top-notch, ensuring there's something for everyone.

The service at The Standard was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about both the food and drink menus. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.

The outdoor garden area is a lovely feature, providing a great space to relax and enjoy your meal or drinks in a more casual setting. It's perfect for a laid-back evening with friends or a romantic dinner.

Overall, The Standard offers an outstanding dining experience in Northbridge. The combination of delicious food, superb drinks, excellent service, and a great atmosphere makes it a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more...
