After a recent, much-anticipated refurbishment, Timezone Northbridge has triumphantly returned as Perth city's premier family arcade destination. This revitalization has truly breathed new life into the venue, offering a fresh, modern, and engaging experience for visitors of all ages. A key element enhancing the Timezone experience is the incredibly convenient Power Pass system. Customers are actively encouraged to add more value to their cards, taking full advantage of generous bonuses that extend playtime and significantly amplify the fun. This straightforward process can be completed either with the friendly and efficient staff at the front desk or, for those preferring a quicker option, at the readily available self-serve kiosk discreetly located near the entrance.
The game selection at Timezone Northbridge is truly impressive, catering to both nostalgic players and those seeking the latest in arcade entertainment. All the enduring favorites are present, from the energetic Dance Dance Revolution to the classic racing thrills of Mario Kart. Enthusiasts will also be delighted to find Initial D racing, providing a more intense driving simulation experience. A particularly exciting addition are the brand-new Pachinko machines, where the satisfying clang of coin stacks waiting to be knocked down promises unique challenges and rewards.
Understanding the game type is made incredibly intuitive through the innovative card scanner system. The distinct color of the scanner on each machine provides an immediate visual cue about its function. Different colors distinguish between games that do not pay out prize tickets, those that are designated ticket-winning games, and specific skill testers where players might win an item directly. This clarity helps players choose games aligned with their preferences. Furthermore, a highly convenient feature is the automatic collection of all winning tickets, which are seamlessly stored directly onto the Power Pass card. This eliminates the hassle of carrying around physical tickets, allowing players to focus purely on the fun. Once enough tickets have been accumulated, they can be easily redeemed in the well-stocked prize shop, offering a wide array of exciting rewards for...
Read moreI like coming to timezone for the rhythm games, and this one has all the ones im interested in like pump it up and DDR, taiko and mai mai, though one of the dance games were temporarily unplayable. cool prize section too. the lady at the counter was very friendly in explaining how the app worked, if you connect your card to the app, even if you lose your card you don't lose your funds.
edit: I ended up getting a free game from the manager because I posted this review which is much appreciated :D 2nd time was a much better experience and I was able to try all the rhythm games since I came on a Tuesday during the day and it wasn't very busy.
song selection on the DDR and maimai machines was awesome, so many to choose from!! love that they seem to be updated fairly regularly. I don't think the pump it up machine has been updated in a long time though and there aren't very many songs, it would be cool if it was updated like the others!
also very happy with the adorable rainbow hello kitty I was able to win with tickets! I think Northbridge has my favourite selection of prizes compared to Innaloo and Fremantle timezone (cutest plushies!)
having said that I think Fremantle timezone has better ticket winning potential, the hammer game top prize is only 500 tickets whereas Freo's same hammer game's top prize was 1000 tickets. Freo and Innaloo also have a power roll machine which is my favourite way to earn tickets, I was sad to see Northbridge doesn't have one. I still enjoyed the ticket roll claw machines here but the tickets earned per cost isn't quite as good as the other timezones I've tried. I think better ticket winning machine deals at Northbridge would make this place perfect!
edit: my main gaming interest lately is maimai, as a regular player I appreciate a machine that functions well. this venue's maimai machines aren't very well maintained and the buttons are sticky which greatly affects accuracy of input which is annoying :'( I will be mostly going to iPlay at Carousel from now...
Read moreThis review is in regards to team member Shaun/fun leader. (hopefully assistant store manager in a few months) A treat not only to visit the North Bridge timezone, but to interact with Shaun. The timezone in itself has updated machines, a wide variety of prize machines and purchasable ticket rewards, smaller than others but with a clean and cared for environment it beats the bigger zones easily. Shaun was engaged with us as soon as we walked in, he has very friendly and calm demeanor which didn't trigger any uneasy feelings. HES VERY GOOD AT UPSELLING BEWARE, we spent our saved up tickets on Pokemon cards and the zone was quiet enough that we shared the opening experience in store with him. Afterwards he convinced us to spend remaining tickets on a card binder. Such an enjoyable visit and we will definitely be engaging with the North Bridge timezone in the future. (With high hopes of running into...
