Last St Brewery — Attraction in Beechworth

While this is not a review of the Brewery itself, it pertains to their product. And not a short one either. A little bit of background - decades ago I visited the Brewery in its former life. There they introduced me to a HOT CORDIAL which changed my life. I prefer a hot cordial these days to coffee or tea. And I extol the item to my friends. So recently I was extolling the virtues again but this time in a zoom session to American relatives. We googled Beechworth and wow! what a surprise! love love love what has happened to the old place and now am wishing I was still domiciled in Victoria. Even more so when I saw the word SPIDER. Having been on fluid restrictions for a long time, my ultimate desire is a litre lime spider. Not allowed to yet though. So I did the next best thing - I ordered 10 mixed drinks and 10 classic sodas from Billsons. Was wrapped that they had a lot of my favourite flavours - passionfruit, sarsparilla and lemon and portello. In just on a week, the order arrived. Packaging was terrific - carton was excellent board and method was so considered of the product. AND a can of Portello soda was consumed after a little time in the fridge. SEVENTH HEAVEN!!!

SO BILLSONS - thank you for the excellent service, the superb packaging and a wonderful product. MY apologies if there are any readers, for the absence of photos - an empty can has no excitement value. But their service and product does.

OMG this place is like the Willy Wonker Chocolate Factory for drinks! I literally had goosebumps discovering flavour after flavour of both canned and cordial delights. I was having rushes of visual delight with the impeccable branding before I even approached the tasting counter. But when my cordial tasting sample made it to my hand my head was spinning with memories of opening Allen’s lolly packets of Snakes and all the fun carefree memories of eating lollies as a kid. The spirit tasting counter also blew my mind! The wondrous flavours of the liquors were so spot on I was sold on the first try. The Salted Caramel Liquor flavour is so uniquely crafted I was speechless with pleasure. The ready to drink cans of soda were whispering for me to come back over to the fridges to try them… I firstly chose the Heritage Cola. Delicious, delicious, delicious. OK then I spent way too much time admiring the work that has gone into an exceptional branding experience. Logos, labels, illustrations , icons & packaging - it’s all PERFECT. Each and every element sings pure joy and a visual fun you can’t help but feel happily inspired by. I have been following Billson’s on socials for over a year and had it on my travel list for longer and if I knew how magical it is inside I’d have visited much sooner.
