Vincent Wine — Restaurant in Perth

OK, so here's my weird customer service experience at Vincent: We went there on Friday night, our first visit, and it was very busy. We waited for a table and were asked to order food and drinks at the bar. There was a line at least six deep at the bar, snaking out of the bar into the the courtyard. The owner was standing in front of the bar with a drink in his hand, schmoozing some customers, and generally bignoting himself. It's a small bar and his group was taking up half of it, making it harder for people to order. There were four staff behind the bar, but only one guy was serving, the other three were stocking shelves and polishing glasses. After ten minutes waiting, and the line barely moving, I asked the owner if he could maybe get all four staff to serve drinks because the line was getting longer. He gave me a smarmy grin and said: 'How about this? I make you the first person to be barred from my bar.' Now I'll accept that it's a new place and they are having teething problems, but I've worked behind a bar, and when things get hectic a good manager rolls up his sleeves and gets behind the bar and helps his staff. He shouldn't be swanning around with a drink in his hand playing master of all he surveys. It could be a nice place, so it's a shame that the manager is...

I'm honesty astonished that I'm only the second person to make a review on this Northbridge corner gem.

Service, after 2 visits, has been absolutely bang on. The wines are nothing but good honest traditional wines, predominantly from Italy, France and of course Australia (with many other nationalities on the list)

If you're sick of overpriced, under-delivering newage wines, stop looking any further.

The food, is as explained on the wall. Its simple and flavoursome, but absolutey nothing you'd just "whip" up at home. The food is well thoughtful and super effective with the wines provided. We had the Vincent's platter, I assumed it was for 2 people at the total steal of 37 spanks, it fed 4 of us quite comfortably but left just enough space for another bottle of vino.

Vincent hosted our company's end of financial year party on a Thursday night recently, and everything could not have been better. I have been a regular at Vincent since it opened and was thrilled to be able to share one of my favourite spaces with my colleagues. We had exclusive use of the venue, plenty of food and drinks for 70 people, and what we received from Vincent was excellent value for money. The Vincent team were a delight to work with during the planning of the event (super responsive, experienced, great ideas and clearly a lot of effort going into the planning).
