We ordered chicken fried rice, meatball soup, lamb fried rice, lamb kwetiau, and batagor. The type of fried rice served was the version without sweet soy sauce. The chicken fried rice was delicious and had a nice smoky flavor with a hint of sambal terasi (shrimp paste chili sauce). The lamb fried rice had a spiced flavor rather than the typical sweet soy sauce-based lamb fried rice. As for the lamb kwetiau, it was similar to the fried rice, with the only difference being the choice of carbohydrates.
Regarding the batagor, it seems that dark-colored fish meat was used instead of white fish, which affected its appearance. It might be better to use fish with white flesh and perhaps add a blend of other ingredients, such as tuna, to enhance the fish aroma if tenggiri (Spanish mackerel) is considered too expensive. Additionally, the peanut sauce was too smooth, resembling peanut butter rather than traditional peanut sauce.
As for the meatball soup, unfortunately, the broth lacked a strong savory stock flavor. Even though salt was provided, it couldn't fully enhance the taste due to the lack of broth richness. However, the texture and taste of the meatballs themselves were quite good and well-balanced.
The service was friendly and reasonably fast, although the lamb kwetiau took a bit longer to be served, which was understandable given the limited number of cooks.

Read moreCame to Raja Gurih to try their Lamb Fried Rice and it did not disappoint! Authentic flavour, a bit on the oily side but packed with taste and generous chunks of lamb. It’s served with carrot pickles that perfectly balance the richness of the dish.
Also tried their bakso — comforting and delicious — and the mendoan, which was on the crispier side (not exactly my preference, but still a solid dish!). I finished with pempek, and it actually exceeded my expectations. It reminded me of pempek kulit but lighter in colour; the cuko sauce had a deep flavour without being too spicy — just right for me.
Service was friendly (as you’d expect from any good Indonesian spot — something I really miss!) and quick. The prices are very reasonable for both portion and location.
Halal-friendly place with vegan and vegetarian options too. The staff are really mindful — they’ll even ask about allergies when you order at the counter, which I really appreciate.
Left with a happy tummy and will definitely come back to try their coto or mie ayam next time. Oh, and they sell martabak at the counter — so good to know where to get my fix when the...
