On the spot, it’s an old converted shop which is a strange vibe, looks like they ran out of money half way through decorating. Table was tacky and uncomfortable bench, should have moved but ya know.

We had x2 eggs bennies, replaced toast with fritters on one. The fritters were enormous, dry and tasted of nothing but flour- staff tried to explain that they were home made and try not to over cook them- ok but they shouldn’t taste of flour?!

One egg was cooked solid, yolk came out as a ball, other one was just soft but no runny yolk, hollandaise over the eggs with nothing over the fritters- no yolk or sauce for all that + floppy fatty bacon.

The toast was so thin, more like a cracker to be honest.

Price would have expensive even it was amazing- It was $22 with $6 to replace toast with fritters.

Fed back it wasn’t good enough at almost $30- corrected me that it was $22 - thanks mate I know the price I paid, apologised but didn’t offer to take it off the bill, had to request a refund for mine as it was totally inedible, he tried to explain away the flour flavour and explained the fritters shouldn’t be runny when I said the eggs weren’t runny, yes thank you sir I am aware of what a fritter is. I’ve had my mansplaining dose for 2024 now, thanks.

Upside coffee was nice, not burnt or bitter which is sometimes hard to come by in Townsville, still won’t...

Went for breakfast with my partner. Went up to the counter as we weren't greeted. The guy behind the counter told us to have a seat at the clean table. We weren't given menus or any other directions on how to order, so we sat down and googled the menu until I saw where the menus where.

We went back up to the counter and ordered. We then sat back down and were waiting for probably 20 mins and then a waitress greeted us, with menus and water, we then told her we had already ordered though.

We got our drinks, I ordered an iced mocha, which was warm. Granted I ordered it without the ice cream but it should have still been cold, it was still yummy though.

My partner then got his meal, and I thought the other meal in the waiters hand was going to be mine, since it was exactly what I ordered, but it went to the table next to me, super weird. I didnt have to wait too much longer to get mine though.

I ordered the eggs Benny, it was okay, one of the eggs were nice and runny the other didn't have any run to it at all. The bacon wasn't cooked evenly either. My partner ordered the veggo breakfast, it looked good and he said he enjoyed it. He also ordered a banana smoothie which he said he liked.

I wouldn't come back here since I thought it was just okay overall and I would probably enjoy breakfast more...

This place took me by surprise. I was visiting Townsville and my partner mention about Betty blue so we went to try it.

Straight from the door we were greeted like old friends. The owner is such a great guy. The place is cozy but it has a certain feel to it, like a little jewel that you're proud to find in the big city. A place to call your own and to go there like regulars not just because they take good care of their customers but it's the food, the food that takes this little Cafe to the full dining experience.

Oh the food, it was amazing from the first bite till last. And I was hungry but it delivered decent size portions that even a hungry man like myself was left full after finishing. From the fresh ingredients, fresh bread and perfectly cooked eggs to the love the put into their food this was the best meal I had in Townsville.

We love brunch and I wish this place was closer to home, I know I'd go there every week.

Batista made coffe drove Betty Blue closer to my heart. Mainly because we had a heart drawn in the coffee, but just maybe it was the perfect temperature mixed with frothy milk and a tiny bit of chocolate powder.

Thank you for this experience, I can't wait to visit the Ville again and be there every morning or...

Had breakfast here this morning and left pretty disappointed. I ordered a almond cappuccino and was given a full cream one. Fortunately it's not a dietary requirement and it doesn't bother me that much. What bothers me is that I paid $4.50 for a side of "fresh avocado" and was served brown, watery, slimey, stringy smashed avo that was quite frankly disgusting and inedible. I've attached a photo. How any type of cook can plate that and serve it to paying customers is beyond my comprehension. The front of house staff were very friendly and the other food items were okay. Big servings, but you pay for it. Chorizo scram w/avo and a cappuccino cost me $33.40. Very pricey for an incorrect drink and a breakfast that ultimately left me feeling a little grossed out. Only 3 other patrons in there at the time.

It was a weekday afternoon and I found myself in Townsville CBD looking for a relaxed cafe for lunch and coffee. I came across Betty Blue, checked the reviews and the menu, and thought of trying it out. The host at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful in assisting me choose the menu. Service was absolutely first class. I ordered a mushroom Bruschetta and a Latte. Quality of food was amazing, it was perfect blend of all the ingredients and delivered personally by the Chef . To top it off, the coffee serve was quite generous and tasted perfect and was served at a drinkable temperature. Overall, I achieved my aim to have a relaxing lunch and a good coffee and found an amazing gem of a cafe in the middle of Townsville CBD
