I have been here on two occasions, the first time was in a group of eight people, the second time there were just two of us. It has become apparent that larger groups are treated to a superior level of service compared to smaller groups.
The first time I came here (October 2020), the quality of service and food were both excellent. The second time (28th December 2021), not so good. My daughter and I ordered two pizzas at around 3:30pm, plus 3 drinks. There was a group of about six people seated nearby, who ordered their pizzas about 5 to 10 minutes after we had ordered ours. I observed that they received their orders about 25 minutes later, while my daughter and I were still waiting for our pizzas. Our drinks were served to us reasonably quickly, but after waiting about 40 minutes for our pizzas, I asked a staff member how much longer they would be. The lady replied that they were very busy, which to me was obvious, but that didn't explain why people's meals were not being prepared in the same sequence as they had been ordered.
Our pizzas finally arrived 5 minutes after my enquiry, but although my daughter's pepperoni pizza was piping hot, and was apparently very good, my chicken supreme was only barely warm, and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. Clearly my pizza had been cooked and ready to serve long before my daughter's pizza.
In addition to this, I observed that the customers at the other table were constantly being attended to by a staff member, and were asked if everything was ok, did anybody need anything, etc. There was no such VIP treatment like that at our table!
I'm disappointed that if you want top quality food and service, it seems you either have to make sure you're in a large group, or else turn up when the place...
Read moreI needed Gluten Free peacartarian. We were on a tour booked as an extension of an IP trip with Journey Beyond. Lunch was included. On the menu were two vegetarian options. One was a pizza. The other a cauliflower and chickpea salad with onions. Greens and a fetta and Tahini dressing. I chose the pizza, being tires of cauliflower and greens salads. My partner also chose the pizza. We expected some level of quality in the meal. For both of us, this was the worst pizza ever. The pizza was half raw in the centre, the cheese was only on half the pizza and was only half covering the surface. The inedible dry and hard crust which was inedible when pieced together showed that around 40% of the surface area was covered. See photos attached. I took photos but could not add them Even the parmesan was just thrown over with the same lack of care as the mozarella. The coffee was great. The wine served to my parter was of such poor quality that whe would not order it if there was a choice We felt that the menu offered to people on the same tour was limited and lacked any creativity. We could also smell very fishy hot cooking oil. The waitress was great and apologised and advised the chef of same. However, this should never happen. We walked away very disappointed without wanting desert. To get rid of the raw flour taste, we headed for the ice cream parlour which our taste buds were very thankful to receive...
Read moreLet’s begin with the welcoming as their wasn’t much, I made an enquiry about a table for 2 adults and a baby. I walked past a free table that was perfect, heading into the restaurant and back out side again I asked about the free table apparently I wasn’t aloud it and had to come back 30mins later for a free table. so my family and I hung around the restaurant spending time with the Quokkas killing time taking selfies and later my wife asked another waitress about available tables and pointed out the one that was free 30mins ago. The waitress was happy to be of services and set us up on the table.
moving on to the food
I would not recommend the seafood platter for $61 it’s well over priced and the meat from the snapper is about the same size as both my thumbs put together and a mass overly deep fried batter to wrap things up.
The bartender needs to practicing pouring a decent pint or the waitress needs to steady who tray as the head of my beer looked like it sunk 20mm below the top of the glass.
ordering another can of beer seems like they needed to travel back to the mainland Perth and travel back again as I never received my beer in less than 10mins of waiting. On top they were happy to charge me for this beer that i was yet to receive.
I would look forward to trying their breakfast next time i’m on the island or maybe turn left...
