Even after I checked and double checked multiple times that the food I ordered was gluten free (before ordering, when I picked the food up, when I rang up after realising the food was definitely not gluten free and when I presented back at the restaurant to read the ingredient list myself - the first of which was wheat) I was served 3 meals which were definitely not gluten free, after being told everything in the restaurant was 100% gluten free

While they were kind enough to return my money after I pointed out that wheat is in fact NOT gluten free, its unfortunate that being polite and issuing a very quick dismissive “tee hee whoops sorry” does nothing for the fact that 2 people with actual food allergies will now be experiencing symptoms for anywhere from days to weeks.

Not good enough for any food service to not be educated or concerned at all for the welfare of their customers, negligence when it comes to food allergies could cause serious illness or death.

Very concerning that they market themselves as allergy friendly...

After a weekend of disappointing experiences ordering or eating food around Caloundra I had a great feed from these guys. By far the greatest part though was the absolute first rate customer service from the young lady behind the counter. She looked as though she wasn’t much older than 18 but was by far the most professional and friendly person I one across in a retail setting all weekend. It made me smile because I have a partner and a daughter in service based jobs in Melbourne and it has been a tough couple of years working in these industries, mostly with little thanks for their efforts but plenty of disgraceful displays of manners from ungrateful customers. If your thinking of working in the hospitality or retail settings and you want to see what excellent customer service looks like then head to Penang chinese and be schooled by this polite young lady. If I was in my home city I would have offered her a job. The owner here might have to reward her with raise because it’s only a matter of time before someone local recognises her great people skills.very impressed Great food...

We just stumbled across this fantastic little restaurant. We almost walked straight past - except a lovely man had a very cute puppy and my two kids wanted to pat it. We were looking for a gluten free restaurant- and didn't think Chinese style catered for this normally. When asked, the lovely waiting staff confirmed almost everything could be cooked gluten free, so we decided to give it a shot.

We ordered pork spare ribs in plum sauce - which had a delicious sauce and light corn flour batter, a Mongolian lamb which was incredibly tender, garlic prawns with lovely fresh vegetables and BBQ pork chow mein.

Everything was cooked to perfection, the staff were lovely and attentive, the wine menu was very reasonably priced, the decor was pleasant, and the chef even came out at the end to see how the meal was.

Overall this was a lovely evening with great food and great company, this is a gem of a place and a must visit when you come...
