I showed up at 7am to get two almond croissants that the wife had been wanting to try for a couple of months. This was my first and last time coming here. When I walked in, there were a number of staff to the left and out the back where their ovens were and one younger girl at the counter. As soon as I walked in, all I got was stares and scowls as best I could describe the staff to the left and out towards the ovens. Not a smile on any of them despite my holding their stare for moments. Obviously not friendly people nor happy to work at this place. After a moment the young girl turned to serve me and gave a nice smile which was a great improvement. I ordered two almond croissants, looked at the other stuff they had but still feeling unwelcome by the scowls of the other staff, I wanted out of there as quick as I could. Forget coffees or any other pastries to try. I even rang the wife and told her never to ask me to go to that place again. Then when I got home, we sat on our balcony to enjoy my purchase. Two bites into my croissant, a hair was stuck inside the filling. I paid 7 or 8 dollars each for these things and a hair, in the filling. At least that tells you a lot about their food handling skills. Made me sick. What a waste of money and a terrible experience. Wake up to yourselves. First thing I did was checked google reviews and started at the lowest first and sure enough, this seems to be a common thing with the staff sub-service and apologies from the owner that they will talk to the staff. Obviously the staff aren’t listening. The 2 stars I gave were for the smile the young girl at the counter gave. Zero stars for the scowls by the other staff and the hair...

✨ Where Pastry Dreams Come True ✨ There are cafés you stop into for a quick coffee, and then there are cafés that feel like stepping into a wonderland of flavour. This one falls firmly into the latter. Imagine walking in and being met with a display of pastries so beautiful, so golden and glossy, that choosing just one feels almost impossible—like being a child again in a lolly shop, wide-eyed and indecisive. The savoury side is just as memorable. I started with a toasted chicken and avocado sandwich, its layers perfectly balanced and finished with a whisper of rock salt. Simple, yes—but in the hands of a great café, simplicity sings. Then came the raspberry danish, filled with a French-style custard that was beautifully light—silken and delicate, never too rich. Buttery, flaky pastry wrapped around tart fruit and that airy custard made for a bite so perfectly balanced it lingers in your memory long after you’ve left. The only challenge here? Securing a seat. The café’s popularity is proof of its excellence, so be prepared: arrive early or plan to take your treats to-go. And honestly, there’s something rather romantic about unwrapping a pastry box by the sea, the scent of butter and berries mingling with the salt air. This isn’t just a café—it’s a destination. One worth savouring, one...

We most recently visited on Saturday morning for my daughter’s Birthday. She requested a crème brûlée tart as her Birthday treat. We met family and wanted to sit inside as we were meeting my 90 year old Grandma. We had a table of 7 so went to move two table together. We were abruptly and rudely told we weren’t able to move tables and we had to sit outside. I said we had done it before about 2 months earlier and the waitress told me that sometimes they do it sneakily? To what I replied then why can we not today? I was told no again and if we wanted to stay then we must sit at the table outside. Not sure how this makes a difference. Given you have the same amount of chairs? We then went to order and I told the lady at the register one crème brûlée tart for the birthday girl. She didn’t even acknowledge my daughter. I was so shocked! Whilst enjoying the amazing food and coffee we then saw a group of young girls try and move the tables inside to which the same waitress told them no. I could see they were disagreeing and they all ended up leaving without purchasing anything. I never leave reviews like this but given the amazing food, I would hate for your patisserie to not do well because of two team members service. No one looked happy...

What incredible pastry! With the choice of classics, such as pain suisse, croissant and pain aux raisin, or contemporary options like the filled cruffins, it's definitely worth going a couple of times to try a variety. Pastry Lab in Caloundra also offer boxes if you wanted a selection for home or as a fresh gift. Each choice is priced individually, although there *may* be an option to purchase a number at a slightly cheaper rate. Admittedly, I don't remember 100%. A nice routine for experiencing the fine pastries is to grab a morning cappuccino and one of their fresh offerings. They have ample seating inside and out, although depending on who else is enjoying the food, it can sometimes feel a little "bustly". I'll sometimes have mine 'to go' and take it to a bench overlooking the beautiful beach, not 30 seconds down the road. I can recommend wholeheartedly the pain suisse and pain aux raisin. The sweet selections are also not only beautifully created (like mini-sculptures) but delicious, too. I'll grab a couple for a special occasion/desert for a dinner party. Great location, sometimes busy, try lots of different options if you get the time!

Almond croissant was really good! Flaky but not too sweet and buttery, they’ve got the balance right. Strawberry pain au chocolate was ok- way too much strawberry jam in it I had to squeeze it out as it was just too sweet. Not to mention the additional chocolate inside. The actual croissant itself was good though, their pastry is decent. Savoury croissant was ok- might be better fresh out of the oven when it’s warm? Ham and cheese croissant probably a better option if after something savoury. Coffee ok- on the stronger side but still smooth enough. They offer oat milk. Would recommend staff to repeat/confirm orders with customers before taking payment as not every patron cares enough about the price of their food/drinks prior to tapping to notice if they’ve been overcharged with additional items. This is alluding to the unwelcome extra strawberry croissant in my picture which they did agree to swap out for another croissant of my choosing after (I didn’t ask for a refund as they had other people ordering at the front counter and didn’t want to be annoying for like $7 lol).
