It was a special day and my missus wanted to visit this place for a long time.
We ordered :
Starters - Attu Nenjelumbu soup (1 by 2) - 👌Very good, spicy and well cooked mutton pieces. Good to have if you have cold. Fish fingers with garlic mayonnaise (10pcs) - 👌 Didn't have the strong fish smell which is a plus, well cooked! Chicken lollypop (5-6pcs) - Okayish. Was dry to our liking.
Mains - Plain biryani with gravy and raitha (1) - Good quantity, would have loved to have more raitha and gravy. Could have been a little more warm. Ceylon chicken parotta with gravy (4pcs per serving) - 👌Thanks to the waiter for recommending this. It was piping hot and tasty! Sumptuous chicken filling. If you like chicken gozleme you will definitely like this.
Finishers - Masala tea (1) - Too light and didn't taste like tea. They could make ginger tea and make a living out of it. Gulab jamun (2pcs per serving) - Size was too small in comparison to other restaurants. But they did make it warm before serving it. Rose milk (1) - As per my kid the quantity was good, little sweet for his liking. Its normally served chill but given the weather they were kind enough to serve it warm when we asked.
A big shoutout to the waiter who did a splendid job in keeping his...
Read moreWith all the hype about Anjapaar, we thought we should try it out. Worst decision ever! I tried to put a zero for the rating but it doesn't allow me. First of all the tables were filthy, the cups looked unwashed and the water jug looked like it hadn't been washed in months. We asked for falooda and they had none, on top of that we asked for a cheese dosa and they said "we don't have those facilities", but they have cheese naan. You have the cheese, you have the dosa. And they said they can't do it . So we ended up ordering the cheese naan and after 45 minutes all we got was a flat roti that just had grated cheese over it . Yes this is what they called "cheese naan". We were so fed up that we ordered cheese naan from another restaurant whilst at Anjapaar. Never thought you'd do that huh. The dosa was also terrible and the edges were touching the sticky table and the dosa was cold.
At the end we went to get our bill and THEY CHARGED US FOR THE FALOODA WE DIDNT EVEN GET.
Unfriendly service and very dodgy.
The cheese naan we got from the other restaurant was actually naan. SURPRISE!!
First and last time I...
Read moreWe went from Melbourne to Sydney for the Easter break. Was bit hesitant after seeing the reviews here. With all due respect for those negative feed backs below, I have to say that this is the best place to get authentic south Indian Biryani in whole of Australia. We pre-ordered takeaway food while we were on the way after seeing the lovely reviews here :) ... when we went there the place looked nice and asked if we can have it there. They kindly put out meals in a plate and served with a smile. We did go bit late, say around 3 PM and there were not that many people, but still we had a great customer service experience. What can I say, horses for the courses I guess. I wont have fried rice here (!!) just like I wont order mutton biryani at Pacific BBQ. I order a duck roast there you see..Maybe during busy time people might experience some delays, but that happens in every good restaurant I guess. The manager was very friendly and we had long chat after lunch. Hope they setup something similar in Melbourne :) Strongly recommend for people who want authentic south...
