I loved everything about this dining experience. The restaurant is bright, airy and clean. The table settings are minimal and classic. The photos on the walls are kitchy food pics and images of iconic Sydney landmarks. The food was amazing! So fresh. They make everything on-site. The pork are prawn dumplings are the open top variety, and have a sweet taste of both meats in equal measure. The spring rolls are crispy and filled with a pork and vegetable filling that is flavoursome and fresh. The sauce on the side is sweet and tangy. The baby mantou are soft and pillowy. The main dishes are also excellent. We had the stir-fry beef and noodles, as well as the Hong Kong style eggplant. The noodles had a lovely sauce; rich and sweet. The crispy batter on the eggplant was light, not oily, very crispy; almost like tempura batter. The service was so quick too, even though the place was quite busy. Also, the table next to us ordered a bunch of seafood and asked for the staff to bring it to their table to see it. They brought a whole live fish to the table and a whole live lobster! They have fish and seafood in tanks out the back to keep it...

Came here as part of a company dinner, so, don't have any accurate gauge of how much each dish cost, but, based on items listed on the wall, the value is poor. The restaurant is quite small and very rudimentarily decorated. Service is passable, though, not sure why they didn't use the turntable to serve and insisted on squeezing past everyone.
The culinary experience was ones of ups and downs. There were certainly good dishes, but, some were ordinary and I felt that the preparation was a bit lackluster.
The best dishes Pepper and pork stomach soup: SS, 9/10. Surprisingly aromatic and flavourful. Strong pepper and pork taste with none of the odour.
Stewed tofu and eggplant in black bean sauce: S+, 8.5/10. well prepared and flavours balanced
Lobster: S+, 8.5/10. Pepper and cream sauce was pretty nice.
Dishonorable mentions Lamb: B, 6/10. Tough and not particularly fragrant Eel: B, 6/10. Not cut into fillets. Bones were bothersome. Still retained a lot of fishy flavour. Abalone: A, 7/10. Very ordinary. Not sure why a...
Read moreOverall: 5/7 A fairly standard Chinese restaurant - a high 5/7 to be fair, that does well cooked and well flavoured food. However, did not find anything particularly memorable or striking about this location, so perhaps a fall back option for me where you can rely on for a cheap, quick and decent meal. Recommend getting a pot of tea for good value, as opposed to a can of soft drink or soy milk. Note attached menu image is out of date, everything is now ~2$ more expensive.
Stir-fried diced wagyu beef pepper garlic butter sauce with spaghetti: 6/7 Everything is very well executed with good flavours and texture. I feel that 6 pieces of beef for such a large plate of noodles is disproportionate, but overall still good value.
Beef filets in Hot chili oil with Chinese sauerkraut w/ rice: 5/7 Nothing remarkable here to comment on. They have managed to tenderise and flavour a lower quality cut of beef such that it actually tastes very tender and good. Great value,...
