What a real disappointment. It's no secret this is a typical run of the mill cheap suburban thai joint, i.e. you wouldn't take a date here. But, it should be the kind of place to deliver decent thai food at reasonable prices. How wrong you could be. It's neither cheap or even decent...it's overpriced and bad.
-Found a curly black hair in my food. Yum! -Ordered the Chef special, fish dish (~$19 meal) and it came out with frozen pre-crumbed fish heated up and thrown on-top of steamed vegetables, bland and just a terrible dish. The fish looked like stale and dry KFC chicken pieces. -Tom yum was probably the worst tom yum i've ever had (and i've had quite a few), it was missing half the typical ingredients (lemongrass, ginger, galangal etc, all missing). Tasted more like tomato soup, not horrible but nothing like a real tom yum. -Watched the chef top up the pre-cooked stir-fry chicken container with bare hands, opening and closing fridge, closing the chicken container, then went on to select veggies from other tubs without washing his hands in between. No gloves are used here. And what restaurant uses cold pre-cooked chicken for stir fry? No wonder chicken comes out dry and tasteless. -When I went to pay and told them how disappointed I was, they just walked away, didn't want to know about it. Didn't even pretend to listen.
Never going back. There are 5 Thai places within 5 minutes of this one and I've tried them all, they...
Read moreOrdered a “mild yellow curry” while very unwell, specifically asking for no chili for that reason — and what I received was the complete opposite: ridiculously spicy to the point I couldn’t eat it, watery, and completely lacking the sweet potatoes listed in the description. It was basically spicy soup. Zero depth, no creaminess, and definitely not what I paid for.
Also ordered a Buy One Get One Free sticky rice dessert and only received one. If you’re going to run promotions, at least honor them.
To top it off, the “young coconut juice” they sold me tasted nothing like the real thing. It was clearly coconut water mixed with sugar and was so sickly sweet it was undrinkable. I’ve never had a coconut juice that tasted like that.
When someone orders food while they’re sick, the bare minimum is to follow instructions and provide what was promised. This was just lazy, careless, and misleading across the board.
Avoid if you want accurate orders, decent food, or any respect for...
Read moreI ordered Tom Kha Soup and Pad See Eew with pork. The main vegetable ingredient of the soup is mushroom. I was lucky if I saw more than 4 half-5-cent-piece sized pieces of mushroom in the soup. As for the Pad See Eew - with Pork - there were two - yes two small pieces of pork in the entire dish. I called in attempt to rectify the issue and was told that they checked it themselves before it went out and they then checked with the chef who said maybe the pork was so big that it only needed two pieces...they were the size of a sliver of carrot. After basically telling me that I was wrong in my estimations of the food I had just eaten, they told me "next time we'll give you better serving". Bamboo Thai, there will be no next time. One star - I'd give...
