Had walked and driven by “Bar Cycle” more times then I can count, and always never took much notice of the place until today. Feeling super hungry to fill my appetite for a decent breakfast and to get me past lunch I headed to Bar Cycle to finally check it out. I ordered at the counter , the Porridge & a Bacon & Egg Roll with a cup of English Breakfast Tea to soothe the soul and secondly to wash it all down. The items ordered arrived reasonably quickly to my table. Staff were friendly. The porridge I would rate a 10/10. It was cooked perfectly and was a more then admiral serving portion , with fruit layered over the sweet tasty porridge. Yummo, totally filling. The Bacon & Egg roll was amazingly fresh with a plentiful serving of tasty bacon & nicely cooked egg inside, the roll was fresh and crispy. All in all one of the best BNEs I’ve had for awhile. They have a variety of choices on the menu to meet all tastes, serving both breakfast and lunch dishes. Prices are high but what you’d expect for this location with a waterfront ambience, The cafe itself was clean, open air, plenty of tables to sit , calm and void of traffic noise. Very relaxing basically! Parking is easy on Hickson road with plenty of spaces on the meters or ride your bike here to the Cafe. Bottom line……. If your in the area definitely hit this place up to grab a bite. I’ll be back to try some of the other servings they offer. Nicely played “Bar Cycle”.

Alberto and his Team made this Brunch one of the best memories. We booked for my Sisters 45th Bday occasion. Me & My family travlled from Western Sydney (Rooty Hill). The food was tasty and well presented, it did get a little busy when we arrived. The giid was served in reasonable time. I liked the fact that Alberto (and the team) gave us 8 some special time (and to other patrons), made some suggestions too and Joked about us gents have Chaye Latte and Hot Chocolate, instead off !! Sorry Bro, I dint have a bike, but it was a nice touch, suggestion "bringnyiur bike next time" We highly recommend this beautfull & friendly Gig. Thank you BarCycle & Teams

You're at home, hungry, lazy. There's an old takeaway felafel (product) in the fridge. You throw it in the microwave, scrape the last of the woollies hummus and no name sweet and sour pickles onto the plate, chop up an underripe tomato, a dry quinoa pouch, and lament the pointlessness of it all, as you watch a YouTube clip to distract you. That was my experience here. The least appetising, lowest quality plate of food since forever. There were no mistakes made. This was presented as intended. The Vittoria coffee was made quite well, if not bitter from the source of beans. Sorry to the lovely team on deck there, but this is what I endured.

I dined at BarCycle this morning and was rudely disturbed by a table beside me who were loudly discussing how Australia should have its own Donald Trump, how ludicrous it was that Aboriginal people wouldn’t want to celebrate ‘Australia Day’ and were making fun of ‘boys wearing dresses’ and young people who ‘identified as cats’.

They clearly saw me looking at them and continued their conversation, saying they needed to “be loud about this kind of thing”

I expressed to the staff how upsetting it was that these people were so comfortable being so publicly bigoted but was saddened to find out that the man at the table was in fact one of the owners of the business.

Sure, people have the right to their own opinion but I also have the right to support businesses that align with my ethical views and this business clearly does not. And I’m sure many people who also have morals won’t be keen to support a business that is so happy having a member of their team (who was wearing a branded outfit, by the way) represent them in such a way.

I will not be returning and will be donating the cost of the (fine) coffee and breakfast I had there to both a First Nations charity and an organisation that supports young...
