They have a per person surcharge, what is included in this surcharge is poorly communicated on the window outside the restaurant.

We waited 5 minutes for them to find us a seat in an empty restaurant, it took more than two people to find us a table.

Majority of the servers do not speak english.

We waited over 15 mins to order, we had to ask for a menu after waiting some time, albeit that we were the first to enter at opening time.

The menu app was on the glitch and it was difficult to order, we attempted to get staff attention but it was very difficult as our table was not being proactively observed.

Once we passed the electronic order to the staff member they deleted the order and we needed to wait for it to be reordered.

At least four tables who arrived after us received their food first, we had an infant with us and it was very frustrating.

We have been here a few times and typically like the spicy food, the lamb skewers are good, the beef jerky is good, unfortunately on this occasion the deep fried chilli chicken was overcooked and lacked flavour.

Total wait time to recieve our full order was 30 mins after order.

Not once were we proactively asked if we wanted more drinks or food, our table recieved little attention and service was reactive at best.

The majority of the staff seemed in a daze and overwhelmed despite the restaurant only being half full and they had plenty of people being early on a saturday night. Their demeanor was generally run down and busy with little attention to the servicing the customer.

We will still come back as previously the food has been good, better chilli food than most other restaurants we have been too, although as the service has been particularly lacking of late and the food could potentially be inconsistent i have chosen to apply 3 stars.

Hopefully they will restore our...

We went by yesterday (30 June 2022) for a late dinner at 7.50pm, the restaurant was full. When we finally got the attention of the server, she told us it would be a 30min wait, which we were fine with and she took down our contact details.

We waited outside watching the goings on in the restaurant, there was one server and one chef for a full capacity restaurant serving 50 dine in customers (approx.) The chef appeared to be yelling multiple times and the server appeared very, very stressed, handling the register, as well. While I understand that many restaurants are currently short staffed, nothing was communicated to us. Eventually, 40 minutes into our wait, at 8.30 we notice the server pull out the 'Closed' sign in the restaurant entrance.

When we approached her, she just walked away, saying nothing. We were beyond annoyed, there was no apology, no explanation, nothing. Our ten year old was shocked because she had eaten there for a friend's birthday party, with her friend's family and said the food and service was excellent in February 2022.

Thankfully, LiLong by Taste of Shanghai Chatswood, just next door, was very accommodating and had a table ready for us in minutes, their food was served quickly, delicious and piping hot, which warmed us up quickly on a cold night. Their service was impeccable and their warm and inviting ambience, was just what we needed after the rudeness from China Chilli.

Perhaps, China Chilli, can learn a thing or two from their neighbours, we are never going back to...

We were very disappointed with the food here recently. There were only three tables of customers at around peak time of 1 pm on a Saturday despite its prime location right at the Chatswood interchange.

The pickled duck feet cold dish was mixed with lots of picked veggies. So the actual amount of duck feet was very small for the price tag. The flavours of pickles also quite diluted and bland.

The sizzling pepper beef dish was full of sinews that we had to spit out at least half of the meat ! All the dish we ordered were extra oily. The free sausage dish they advertised when you order more than $100 worth of food was valued at $25. But it was only about 150 gram and exactly the same type of sausage ( dry and ordinary ) that you can get from any nearby Asian grocery.

The dish of Mushroom stir fired with duck liver sauce was dry and oily. The king mushroom ( 杏鲍菇) slices were very thin and dry which tasted as if they were cooked long time ago and just being warmed up on the day ! The total bill was $130 for such poor quality food !

The service was adequate although nothing special, at least she didn’t forget our orders.

We will not return unless the chef...

Good decoration, food was good enough. Called in to make reservation, but the three of us were still asked to wait for more than half an hour. It's a popular place, but when reservation is confirmed, arrangement should have been made. Ordered spicy/chilli chicken (辣子鸡), spicy beef soup(水煮牛肉), spicy cauliflower (干锅花菜), spicy mini crayfish(麻辣小龙虾)。 Staff showed us the live mini crayfish, that was nice. But the crayfish dish was too soggy for my liking. There is not much flavour but the spicy and peppercorn taste. Cauliflower is probably the best dish amongst all. They kind cheated by using ham instead of the proper Chinese meat that suppose to be in the dish. Beef was tender, thanks to the baking soda, wayyyyyyy too much is it. I can hardly taste the beef. The flavour the chicken was ok, but you can hardly find any meat in that dish, all chopped so fine and so few of them. We wondered if we have asked the staff to remove all the chilli, we would have left with a small dish of peanuts instead. Try once is probably a good idea, but I won't be going back

Exceptional. I visited a few minutes before their afternoon break. We ordered three dishes. Mapo tofu, fried mushrooms and chili fish. The waitress was somewhat pushy and impatient which I can totally understand, she wants to take a break before busy night hours. The three dishes were literally ready in 5 minutes. We were both shocked. We were told that all the shifu (the chefs) were working on our table as the restaurant was closed for their break. Quality was not compromised at all. The food was genuinely tasty and tasted authentic. This might not be the best for people accustomed to westernised Sichuan food, it was just that good. Later on, the chefs and waitstaff walked out, sat near up and started talking. It felt like we are in Chengdu. There are many bad reviews so maybe they are not the most consistent, but our experience was nothing but exceptional. We felt like the emperor. I cannot believe I am selecting "no wait" for a proper restaurant instead of takeaway Chinese fast food.
