CLOSED－Elbow Room Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Sydney

I have eaten at this cafe a few times. It has a decent atmosphere and is in a lovely location. They typically have a newspaper you can read.

Now the bad.

The coffee is outrageously over priced. I paid $8 for a cold brew. Whilst I acknowledge that cold brew costs more, look at the size of it in the photo I posted. It looks less than 100ml of liquid. I might have passed security at the airport given how small it was.

The staff are ok. I don’t find them particularly friendly but they’re not rude either. If you do order something and pay on card they will round your order up. For example when an item costs $13.97, they’ll put it into the card machine as $14. I know this is just 3 cents but it’s not transparent.

Double check your order too. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast with extra eggs. Conveniently forgot my extra eggs.

If you order coffee in a take away cup but go to sit down as you’d like to take your coffee with you latter, be warned they won’t serve the coffee to the table despite the staff not being busy.

If you want better food, better service and a better vibe all for a lot cheaper price, I strongly recommend you try Cafe Markus...

Elbow Room Coffee Roasters in Chatswood is a great local gem. For those of us who appreciate not just a cup of coffee, but the story that comes with it, this place is a must-visit. But the experience doesn't stop at coffee. The café offers a great Australasian fusion breakfast menu. Their hot chocolate deserves a special mention too. Served with a playful garnish of candy floss, it's a treat that delights both the eyes and taste buds.

Last but not the least, the staff's welcoming attitude, combined with their efficiency, completes the friendly atmosphere...

Wouldn’t waste a cent again. The coffee is highly watered down or burnt.. they don’t have good service, they don’t add things you ask for to wraps etc even though it’s an option to add they’ll come up with very poor excuses. Lazy team and they give nasty looks and speak in their own tongue, super disrespectful.

In response to your reply- there was no miscommunication and nothing stated here suggests they miscommunicated any messages with myself. I also came back twice to double check I was correct and they’re refusing to add an add-on option. I was nothing but respectful regardless of your teams poor service. Don’t push blame for where you have lacked in training or staffing. Even through your response you deflect, very clear to see why it’s dysfunctional.
