Cold Rock Ice Creamery Cronulla — Restaurant in Sydney

Context: 9pm, public holiday night, huge line at Anita’s, Woolies out of stock on half price drumstick. Cold Rock, last resort… Money’s tight in cossie livs times, but cravings were too high. So pulled in to the OG Cold Rock in the heart of the mall. Zero line structure and no one paying attention despite 5 people working behind the counter so got bumped in the queue, all good only one person not a long wait. Looked at the sizes and 8 bucks will get a paltry sized regular. Suggestions for combos on the poster inside pretty much dictated my choice, so went with the Cookie themed number. That’ll be $11.50 please. Excuse me?! The only reason for an extra star in this case is due to satisfying a craving in a time of dire need and taking less than 5 minutes to do so. But I think if you weren’t already aware getting a scoop of ice cream less than 150mL and a few chunky bits of cookies does not constitute a good value offer. I recently visited Cold Rock Icecream parlour and had an incredibly disappointing experience. To begin with, the interior uninviting, with sticky floors and clearly hadn't been wiped down in hours. The staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly, barely acknowledging our presence when we walked in.

As for the ice cream itself, it was a letdown. I ordered a double scoop of chocolate and vanilla, and both flavors were bland and icy, with no creaminess at all. The vanilla tasted like cheap artificial flavoring, and the chocolate was more like a watery cocoa slush than a rich, decadent treat. The toppings were lackluster—dried-out sprinkles and stale crushed cookies that didn’t seem fresh.

To make matters worse, the prices were ridiculously high for such subpar quality. For the amount I paid, I expected something indulgent, but instead, I left feeling cheated and unsatisfied. Very poor service and much disappointed with the customer service. We went to buy ice cream for our children last Saturday. the shop was empty but we still waited 10 minutes for the staff to come out from the room from the back to serve us. The girl came but showed no kindness whatsoever. we were not even greyed like " hello, how can I help etc" nothing. The girl that was serving us made no conversation at all, just non verbally showed signs of unhappiness and grumpiness. As the other customers were coming the other staff members were coming out the back room. Most of them looked like that it's not their day for work. So really no matter what problems you have you work with customers and show some politeness and kindness. However because of this attitude never again.
