I'd question one's sanity if one visits this restaurant after the first time.
no lies, I was happier before going into this restaurant and had my friday night dinner. I mean, it is not the first time I was served late or mediocre food or with a rude service, but this time I also needed to pay quite a lot too.
we needed to order in rush as waiter was trying to take menus out of our hands, and only got very short answers to our questions about menu and food. from that moment I knew we won't get a good service as a group of only 2 people, as there were tables with bigger groups with possibly higher bills.
first, the plate waiter brought had oil stains, and I needed to ask it to be changed. I would not even mention it there was only couple of little problems but this was just the first of many.
then greek salad arrived, and little did we know it will be the only thing that we will be able to like at the end of that night. lucky that salad does not need to be cooked, because cooking a portion of calamari took 50 minutes to arrive after we ordered it, just before we were getting ready to leave the restaurant. perfect timing if I wanted to take it away to home. I kindly refused the calamari as it was way too late and surprisingly, it was not included in the bill. thanks for that. halloumis were dry and overcooked, and with all due respect, sausage was simply horrendous.
I don't have any experience in the kitchen as a professional, but I am confident enough to say that the lamb cutlets I cook in my $60 dumb air fryer tastes at least 10 times better than the ones I had in Corinthian. if you ever wanna know how their cutlets taste like, just cook some random cutlets with no care and divide its taste by 10. and feel free to call it Corinthians 1:10. this is as holy as the food they serve could get.
we did not receive the rice which supposed to come with the cutlets, as the waiter confirmed it'd, while we were ordering.
anyways, after all these, at least now I have an answer if someone asks me what I would change in my life if I had a time machine...
I checked the previous reviews by customers and restaurant's careless answers to them, so I can see the restaurant owner's answer to my review from now - without a time machine - and boy I can see lots of whining excuses in that answer, so better not even bother yourselves with writing that one...
Read moreAt Review Central, we judge restaurants on their food, service and atmosphere. However there is a time when food exceeds taste, and becomes craftsmanship, service exceeds a smile, and becomes friendship, atmosphere exceeds authenticity, and becomes a home. That ... is what 5 Star means. Perfection without dispute.
Corinthian Rotisserie Restaurant, from the first step into its newly renovated facility, attends to your every need. Every entree is served in haste, and is mouth watering to the thought. Every main is served with flavour and passion. The salad alone could satisfy as a 3 course meal. I relaxed my judgment, confident in my five star decision as I stared into the spectacular wall piece artwork of the Santorini Caldera, Greek music playing in the background. But then, I placed the first hot chip in my mouth. They call it a chip, but all I received was disappointment. Never have I been faced with such indecision on my rating. How could a single slice of spud taint my entire view. Perfection without dispute repeated in my head. Perfection without dispute. A perfection blocked, by a potato. I stared deep into chips. The Greek music faded, now replaced by a slogan on repeat. “ahh McCain, you’ve done it again.” Greek chips must be handmade, peeled and salted and spiced in a traditional way. These, were not. However there is no dispute, and so here is the final verdict, despite the disgusting, Kmart budget chips.
At Review Central, we aim to inform in an entertaining way. However there is a time when humour must be replaced by seriousness. This only happens with a serious restaurant. Corinthian Rotisserie Restaurant is the perfect, and greatest Greek Restaurant in Sydney by far. At Review Central, we give...
Read moreI’d never been to this place before but knew it as a very well known traditional Greek restaurant with authentic Greek food. Friends had been talking about this restaurant for many years given it was established in 1962!
The place is nice but very small making talking very difficult when it is full. There is some traditional Greek music playing in the background providing a nice atmosphere
It is well Located on busy Marrickville road this place is quaint and well known for its rotisseries. It appears to have recently undergone a facelift both outside and in the kitchen area which is exposed to patrons.
The food is ok. Would not say it’s amazing but it is ok. It’s authentic actually. The salad is a traditional Greek style which is nice and the food overall is ok. The meat is cooked fairly well and the fries are great. The menu is also quite basic and each serving is plentiful. The recipes appear to be old and traditional. They could benefit from some updating. The tsatzikiki was a little sloppy in presentation. The saganaki was delicious. The calamari was ok...ish..
They offer a good range of wines which is lovely.
Open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday.
Service is good and very efficient in fact. The hosts are welcoming and played are cleared quickly replaced with new sets for mains.
Nice to go to once with a small group perhaps mid week when parking is easier to obtain as on a weekend this can prove quite challenging
