A nice flat white, well made and fine for the $4 price. But, we came here for the extensive tea offering. What was a wonderful bonus is that over half the cakes are gluten free. They all sit separately on their own boards so any cross contamination is very limited. The cakes are very reasonably priced. Gorgeous patisserie and only $7 per cake (March 2022). The yuzu meringue has a shortbread like crust rather than pastry giving it a delicate sweetness. The yuzu curd on top is lovely though I think the curd inside the tart is just lemon. The strawberry basil mousse is creamy with a delicate strawberry taste. There's a base of I think almond holding up a compote of strawberry with a slight hint of basil. The service is wonderful, the staff are very polite and helpful. Although the cafe is inside it is still a nice and calm place to relax and enjoy a cuppa.

Came here in June for high tea. You need to book 2 days before arriving. Had the most wonderful experience, service was great. The food was delicious and very filling. Loved the desserts. Decor was nice, ambience was nice, lots of seating to choose from. Also enjoyed cakes and coffee here on a separate occasion. The cakes were lovely, the pandan one was light and airy not too sweet, the chocolate one is quite rich.

The perfect amount of tasty hors d'oeuvres, tea was good, drinks from the bar (when you ask for something custom) is great, the service is 5/5 with friendly staff that check up on you and also double check dietary requirements. Half our group had dietary requirements and the staff were very accommodating with almost completely different food items. Would definitely come back here on special occasion.

I had booked for G&Tea's regular high tea but instead received the festive menu. I had asked the manager who served if I could get the regular menu and then was informed that it was not available as throughout December they only had the festive menu and to check my booking confirmation. The confirmation email clearly states i had booked the regular menu and I had asked for the regular set for which was denied as it was supposedly not available. I then asked why then I was able to book the regular menu as the website showed two booking options - one for the regular and one for the festive. The staff then said that "I'm telling you in December we only have the festive menu". I then had no choice but to go with the festive menu as cancellation wouldve sparked a fee of 50 per head.

I then asked if I could please get a replacement for one of the pieces due to an allergy. The staff then told me that since I didn't send an email for it, they couldn't do anything about it. The food was eventually brought out with one of pieces removed for which made me question why was such a response given if they couldve easily removed it?

I don't think there has been WORSE customer service for high tea dining ever. The food was extremely mediocre and I would NOT recommend ANYONE to come here and for you to take your high tea experiences somewhere else. The food tasted old and you could tell because the hot pieces were no longer hot and the bread was dry.

I hope The Star cleans up their website - either restrict the booking options or add a disclaimer that certain options wouldnt be available so no one else books for the wrong thing. Although there were inconsistencies with the booking / food menu, the experience could have been better if the staff was more helpful and not as dismissive,...

It was an extremely quiet time with only two staff on duty. However, I noticed an Asian male in casual clothing who seemed to be enjoying a drink but kept walking behind the bar. It looked very unprofessional and unpleasant.

The young Australian female staff member just wandered around without taking any orders, leaving all customers standing for about 10 minutes. She also seemed unable to provide proper service.

Only one Asian female staff member was actually busy making drinks, while the rest were not contributing.

It made me wonder if it was even worth paying to dine in a place like this.

Even before I left, a few customers had already walked out.

If there is a manager, I strongly suggest they take proper responsibility for how this venue...
