Gajok BBQ — Restaurant in Sydney

Went here after the reviews and tik toks. Was pretty disappointed. Arrived on a Friday night just before the rush and waited to be seated (approx 30 min)

Sat down to an empty table. Wasn't given any cutlery, cooling utensils or plates. Wasn't given any directions on where to find them either.

Started cooking and found the BBQ cooking unevenly. There was only a small 15cm diameter of cooking space an anything outside of this would be raw so cooking took a lot longer. I've been to heaps of other places and never experienced this issue.

If eating here avoid sitting outside as smoke goes directly in your face. No exhausts outside, only inside.

Meat was ok but nowhere near the best. Some cuts were chewy. Sashimi fish cuts were sliced so thinly you could only taste the rice. Some of the fried items were cold i.e. the prawn toast was cold and pretty hard, dumplings were mushy and lacked flavour. The friend chicken was good and fresh.

They did have a ramen station which was great but no additional items to put into the ramen I.e. no eggs no cheese no ramen toppings like meatballs, fish balls etc. You just cook the ramen as per packet instructions (I could do that at home)

Dessert was ok but lacking. Only packaged ice cream and hello panda packets in the freezer. No thought put into it at all. No pre cut cake slices or even just fruit to cleanse the palette.

Overall save your money. So many other bbq buffet options that are halal as well. Even in stratty there's 2 I can think of. For the price of $59 pp I...
