Great Dragon Sichuan Cuisine 大龍川菜 — Restaurant in Sydney

So sad to report such a low rating because we were really looking forward to this restaurant. Let’s always start with the positives… Firstly the staff were friendly and worked fast. Secondly the taste of the dishes were on par or ok. Unfortunately everything else falls into the negatives. For the prices you pay, the portion sizes were extremely small. There’s usually two types of restaurants - one type using good sized serving bowls and plates and when the food comes, it’s packed to the brim, second type is the one using fancy large serving platters but two scoops into the dish and there is nothing left. Unfortunately this restaurant falls into the latter category. Don’t let the big fancy plates fool you! The quantity is minuscule and does not match the price. Salt and pepper pork ribs needs to be taken off the menu!! Owner please take note, take your chefs to any other Chinese restaurant serving this dish so they can try and copy it. It didn’t taste bad but wasn’t proper! Hmmm… Cold dishes tasted nice but again such small serves! Sauerkraut fish was floating in soup, where was the sauerkraut, the vermicelli and vegetable base? Literally two chopsticks in and two of the four of us enjoyed a couple of bites of vermicelli. The stir fried liver again tasted fine but was definitely over cooked. The liver meat was mostly just crumbs probably due to the overcooking it fell apart. We had to spoon up the dish to eat it. Very disappointed and judging by the other customers, most would only be one time customers. For such a competitive suburb in the heart of Burwood Chinatown, your serving sizes need to improve immensely or drop the prices to match the size! I visited the restaurant located in Burwood with my partner on Friday, 7th March at 8 PM, following a recommendation from a Chinese friend. We were eager to try the food and understood it was a busy evening, so we were prepared to wait. However, after waiting over 45 minutes, we noticed that two Chinese customers who arrived after us were served their meals before us.

When I politely inquired about our order, a staff member simply told us to "wait, wait" without offering any clear explanation. By that time, we had already been waiting for more than an hour, and it left us feeling very frustrated and disappointed.

It’s disheartening to feel that service may not be equally prioritized for all customers.
