💖🍦 @icekirinbar_aus was another place that was on my must try list when we visited @sydney i had their @regentplace_sydney location saved however, stumbled across their location in Burwood and went on in!~ and oh. my. god….🤤✨🥹 we got✨🍽️: 🍵🍡genmaicha with daifuku wrap ($6.5 then $1.5 add on for the daifuku!🤍) 💛✨yuzu sorbet ($6.5) okay where do i EVEN start, i was so excited seeing all the unique flavours such as peach oolong and vietnamese coffee, but two that instantly captured my interest was their genmaicha and their yuzu, i was kindly offered to taste test both and it didn’t make my decision to choose one easier with both samples being incredible! so i thought… life is short, why not both??🥹🤣 the genmaicha, UGH.🍵✨💚creamy, smooth texture with such a strong but balanced flavour of the aromatic rice nutty tea flavour that i adore, i’ve never had genmaicha gelato before this and i honestly highly doubt i’ll ever have a better one, that’s how amazing it was, i’m crying thinking about it🥹✨🤧the mochi wrapped skin was really nice and chewy and not too sweet! a fun and interesting way to have gelato, had it for the experience but it’s what inside that counts🤤💚 the yuzu, oh my gawd *chefs kiss* so sour it’s crazy, i adore sour flavours especially yuzu and this was PROPER yuzu unlike the super sweet yuzu flavors out there! not for the weak hearted (people who can’t handle sour🤣) but my goodness did i love this so much!✨💛 in conclusion, i could not recommend @icekirinbar_aus more! for one scoop it is a little pricey but honestly? for the high quality and amazing flavour? take my money! also their staff were so kind~💖 @icekirinbar_aus im beelining to you the next time im in @sydney 🥹✨🥰

This is one of my favorite ice cream places ever, which is why I am so disappointed in our most recent experience here. Me, my partner, and kid frequent this place a lot since we only live 3 blocks away. Today I injured my back and was unable to make the walk, and asked my partner to get me some comfort food, their ovaltine daifuku. When he was there at 5:55 pm, he nicely asked the woman who was serving him for an easy way to transport the ice cream. Another employee jumped in and told him off, being unreasonably angry about him asking. He was subjected to a minute long lecture about why it was foolish of him to think he can transport Icecream out of an ice cream place, going on how it was best to eat it there and not giving him any room to speak. She didn't offer to sell him a Styrofoam container (they have containers, and do deliveries on Uber). A simple no would have sufficed. Instead, he got a lecture. So he brought the ice cream back home to me and it was an absolute melted mess. It had melted all over his shirt and pants, and the Daifuku was basically all dissolved. My partner refuses to go here anymore after being treated like that. I am really disappointed that this one experience has soured our favorite ice cream stop.

This place is truly deserving of its hype. I've been here a few times and I've tried three flavours. The Uji Matcha, hojicha and black sesame. I think the matcha and black sesame are some of the best flavours I've ever tried. The matcha and black sesame have a very strong flavour and isn't overtly drowned out by sweetness. There's a depth to both flavours. The hojicha is very good too but if you're a fan of strong matcha and sesame, try those! I'm keen to try the other flavours but it's so difficult to stray away from the matcha and sesame. They have another matcha flavour to try too with roasted rice. Edit: would like to add that my picky mum enjoyed their sesame and matcha! Stamp of approval. The downsides: Very very limited indoor seating, about 5 or 6 stools in a bar style. Also the line tends to be slow at times as customers keep trying flavours one by one but there's only one person usually serving. Though I have never waited long, at most maybe 5 to 10 mins. I recommend getting a tub if you are in a rush. I bought one with two flavours and it's still going strong after 2 weeks!

Delicious ice creams with unique tea flavours, my favourite flavour is Peach Oolong and would definitely try the other interesting flavours next time. I do wish that the portion is tiny bit larger.

However service could be improved. Because when we went there (it wasn't busy/no other customers behind us or anything), the girl who served us was preparing our ice cream... and I asked if there is any different in price for cone/cup. She looked annoyed straightaway and asked us 'so you want a cone or cup?'. The thing is... we were asking the question because we were deciding on cone/cup our 2nd ice cream (not because we wanted to change our 1st ice cream), so I explained to her that the question is for the 2nd ice cream, as she just assumed things herself. However the guy who was the cashier was nice. I guess there are various types of personalities in customer service, or she may have a bad day or something. I would still come back here for the ice cream though.

EDIT: Dear Owner, I greatly appreciate your response. My visit was actually a while ago, it was on 29/10/2021 at around 7pm. Thank you again and I will certainly come back to ICE KIRIN...
