I don't really write bad reviews but I just want to be honest because I literally can't even begin to describe how awful our experience was at this so-called "Thai restaurant." My partner and I were hopeful when we walked in, but that quickly faded. First off, the service was nonexistent. We were ignored every single time we placed an order. It got to the point where we literally had to get up and repeat our order to the staff after waiting forever. And guess what? We still didn’t get what we ordered! If we hadn't gone up to the counter to remind them, I’m sure we’d still be waiting.
And don’t even get me started on the portion sizes. We were starving, and what we got could barely feed a child. For the price we paid, we’ve had much larger and better meals at other Thai places. The tiny servings were an insult, and the overall quality of the food didn’t make up for it either.
But that wasn’t even the worst part. As if the terrible service wasn’t enough, we actually found a piece of METAL in our food! Yes, you read that right. When we tried to bring this to the attention of the waitress, she rolled her eyes at us—rolled her eyes! She didn’t apologize, didn’t care, and just acted like it was no big deal. To top it off, when we spoke to the manager, she actually admitted that she has done so. But unfortunately neither her nor the manager had anything to say.
If you’re looking for good Thai food with decent service, do yourself a favour and go anywhere else. And I really do hope someone that cares about this place from the owners does something. This place has some serious issues, from the food quality to the service, and I’ll never be coming back. Avoid...
Read moreThai Riffic in Parramatta offers a mixed dining experience that left me feeling somewhat ambivalent. While the food was decent, the overall experience was marred by several shortcomings.
The menu features a variety of traditional Thai dishes, and the flavors were generally good. The Pad Thai and Green Curry were tasty, though not exceptional. The ingredients seemed fresh, and the portions were adequate. However, the lack of basic condiments like tomato ketchup was surprising and inconvenient.
Service was a significant letdown. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive. We had to wait a long time to place our order, and even longer for the food to arrive. When we asked for ketchup, the server informed us they didn't have any, which was quite disappointing. The overall service felt rushed and impersonal, detracting from the dining experience.
The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant enough, with a casual, street-food vibe that fits well with the theme. However, the crowded seating arrangement made it difficult to enjoy a relaxed meal. The noise level was also quite high, which added to the discomfort.
In summary, Thai Riffic in Parramatta offers okay food but falls short in terms of service and overall dining experience. The lack of basic condiments and inattentive staff were significant drawbacks. While it's not a terrible place to eat, it doesn't quite live up to the expectations set by its name. A solid three stars for the effort, but there's definitely room for...
Read moreThe food at this restaurant is decent, which is why I visited for the second time. However, the staff’s attitude toward customers is very strange.
I came with one other person but ordered quite a lot: noodles, laksa, skewers, pork BBQ, chicken wings, and two drinks. Everything tasted fine. But during the meal, I tried to order tissues, steamed rice, and a Sprite by calling over a staff member. The problem was, as soon as I said just one item, the staff would walk away without listening to the rest.
I said “tissue,” and before I could say anything more, they just turned around and walked off. I called them again and said “steamed rice,” and again, they turned and left. They wouldn’t even let me finish my sentence. It was incredibly frustrating. I didn’t even feel like getting angry anymore — I just sighed. I honestly have nothing more to say.
It was ridiculous how they seemed so eager to turn around and leave after hearing just one word, as if customers couldn’t possibly have more than one request.
And maybe they knew they were being rude, because when we left after paying, there wasn’t even a simple “thank you” or “goodbye.” With that kind of service, I won’t be coming back.
We ordered $115 worth of food between the two of us, so there were leftovers, and Even though the food at such a restaurant is delicious, I threw it in the trash because I didn't want to look at it or...
