Have been to the restaurant a few times. The food is good, also the service when the owner or the manager attended the restaurant. But our experience went badly on Friday 8/3. And I could see the restaurant owner was there. The restaurant was run by a staff member, who was at the reception. We went there with our friends and their newborn baby. Our session started at 8.20pm. By their rule, we have 2 hours for dining. Also on their business hours at the door, it says the restaurant closes at 10.30pm on Friday. But at 9.50pm, as we were the last table, one of the staff came and told us that we had 10 minutes to finish our food and leave at 10pm. Also, they already started cleaning up and removing all food from the fridge. Once I asked the lady, who was selling us the ticket at the reception, that if they were closing early. That lady turned her back on us, and were muttering something. And she turned to us said "yes, we close early". Everyone can imagine how rude she was. They didn't even tell us that they will close early when we came. Also we paid an extra price for Friday night. And the problem wasn't only that. My friends, the parents, decided to take turns to take care of their baby. So one of the others one can have the proper time to eat. And at last, when my friend started having their time to eat at 9.30pm. We all thought that we had 50 minutes so she could have her dinner properly. But at 9.50pm they came to rush us. Then at 10pm, other than the other's finished pots, the staff took away the pot of my friend who was eating as she didn't have time. It was extremely disgusting of their service. I'm writing this so everyone can be aware. Also the restaurant owner, if they can read this, they know what happens at the restaurant when they are not there. I will consider coming back there next time. But absolutely I don't think my friends would want to be back there after that. I also feel bad that I introduced my friends to have...
Read moreUnhelpful staff - first time here at the buffet and no explanation about collecting your broth first to heat up which was at the opposite end of the restaurant to the entrance, there are symbols with chilli level. Basically without knowing our group selected a "1 chilli" broth the hot pot was like ++++5 chilli-level, half of the group of 12 couldn't eat their hot pot enjoyably ($78 per person), when asked 5 minutes in that we need to remove chilli, they said it's a $15 extra charge to change the broth. So we had to sit there for the rest of the 2 hours with no food as we refused to pay the extra $15 when we had no explanation and we told the staff we just paid $78 and were not told about this - the pre-cooked food was minimal, not tasty and unorganised with no signs about what is the food, when I asked what was the battered food, she spoke no english and could not respond so I went without that dish. I had a iced drink bottle which was the only money worth spent, but even that I could not take out of the venue even though it was paid in my $78 all you can eat. The ice cream as a safe point (not infested in chilli) was bad quality/cheap tasting together with bad tasting marshmallows and chocolate fountain. Overall, will not go back - there is no good tasting pre cooked hot food or dessert with no labels and the hot pot is just filled with spicy chilli broth and staff were unhelpful. Not even allowing casual dining for a drink if someone couldn't eat due to pregnancy with no...
Read moreWe came to Legend Hot Pot last Saturday on the 5th of Feb 2022. While we enjoyed the food with large variety, it still left us a bitter taste with the service at the reception. Before we realised we could use our Senior card for the discounted price of $64 we’ve already paid the full price of $78 per head. It’s a huge difference so we kindly asked the receptionist if she could adjust it she firmly said “No” as once the payment was put through that was it. We paid cash and not by credit card so couldn’t understand what was the difficulty to adjust the payment. In any other business in Australia, if the price is charged incorrectly, whether or not it’s the mistake of the seller or the consumer, it is the consumers right to ask for adjustments or credit. I thought it’s worthwhile to write this post so that other customers can be aware of the situation if they are also senior card holders. Legend Hot Pot could argue that you have the sign on the wall but often we just do whatever the receptionist told us. To be honest, how many people would thoroughly read every sign at the restaurant unless the receptionist explained things clearly. In our case the receptionist did not explain anything to us and just asked us to...
