Montien Thai Kitchen cronulla — Restaurant in Sydney

The moment we sat down, the lady that greeted us was not happy. I ordered stir fry crispy pork / PAD PRIK KING CRISPY PORK. The vegetables and rice were good but the pork had an off after taste that was very porky and unfresh. I tried to ignore it until my third bite but i couldn't take to continue eating. I informed the lady that the pork had a strange taste and maybe it wasn't cleaned well. She gave me a lecture that their pork is always clean and pork in Australia is different from other local countries specifically Asia and suggested with a mix of sarcasm that i should not order pork. I was surprised on how angry and rude she was. I apologized about assuming the pork was not clean but i said that i don't know why but there was a strange after taste and that is how i felt. I took it as miscommunication but was still in shock that i nicely told her my problem and she was very angry and unapologetic. She did not charged me with my order because i demanded a refund and although she did it, she was sort of throwing tantrums while doing what is expected of her. i'm never going back to this restaurant. I have been to a lot of thai restaurants across Sydney but this one i am definitely not going to even attempt to give it a second try. In conclusion all the negative reviews prolly...

I’ve been here with my wife about 5 times now… the first few times we returned because we enjoyed it so much. But Quality and consistency have taken a turn for the worse today, the red curry was watery today all I can taste is palm sugar, king Prawn Pinnaple had no pinnaple chunks and the sauce was exactly the same as the duck with red curry, with minimal vegetables in it and the portion was rather small for the price. The Duck was dry and didn’t seem quite fresh, BBQ chicken felt like a rip off cause chicken was dry and again small portion. Asked for no sugar in my red curry and waitress said the sauce was already made. Which speaks tons about freshness or customisation of dishes, anyhow… I think it’s going to take a long a time for us to come back here… we might as well give it a go a to other Thai restaurants around given that we drove 25 minutes and o have local options…. My point is… I hate it when restaurants start dropping quality and stop being consistent. This place need to be aware that they need to be consistent in order to make happy the loyal and repeat customers or I predict a quick downfall till...

cashew nut was decent but nothing fantastic for sydney, we ordered the duck roll’s when she gave it to us she goes “here is your spring roll” and we said wait isn’t that the duck roll she quickly corrects but I can tell you know it wasn’t duck definitely vegetarian as I pulled it apart not a spec of duck.. the BBQ chicken was definitely pre cooked frozen then re heated because it was chewy and the dipping sauce smelt like feet and the chicken had 0 flavour🤦🏽‍♂️ with a bunch of unseasoned veggies underneath no joke…. We left disappointed and it cost us $80 all up!

I try to support local businesses but this place has gone to ruins… they walk around with vapes in there hands and the chef “if you would call him that” just walks around the front touching himself in all kinds of areas then Walks back...
