One of the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. The sad thing is, this place used to have really amazing food. The original owner must have sold the business cause we don’t see him anymore. Decided to give it a chance and went to get some takeaway. Had a craving for some ramen, so I ordered one of the options. Imagine my surprise when I got home. They tried to pass off store bought instant noodles as ramen! They did not even bother cooking the noodles thoroughly cause I still see the familiar square-shaped cake of noodles that hasn’t quite unravelled from the shape. It is appalling and absolutely unacceptable. If I had wanted instant noodles, my own pimped-up version at home taste a hundred times better! Even the rest of the food, i ordered tasted really off. DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY FOR A GROSS EXPERIENCE

The stars are for the staff attitude. The food was a disaster. I was in Marrickville and craving for ramen so went check out this place. We tried the Tokyo Ramen with beef, Miso Ramen with beef and Okonomiyaki (pancake). The pancake doesn’t have much fillings and taste bland. The ramen was definitely worst ramen we have ever had. The broth was so salty that I have to literally take the noodle onto the pancake plate and pour water over it to reduce the saltiness (see photo). The broth taste like they use cheap instant noodle seasoning. Even the beef tasted so wrong that my husband (who is a beef-lover) left half of his beef in the bowl. Totally disappointed, even the supermarket Nissin ramen is better than this.

I will take into consideration reviewing ‘Otoro’ that this is a cheap and fast alternative Japanese restaurant & has ‘$’ displayed online. Pros: - Cheap (Bento Box in pic was about $10) - Quick and simple to order restaurant (took around 8/10minutes) - Nice cozy little sit in restaurant for Lunch or dinner Cons: - Cheap, below average food // don’t come here expecting the finest or best Japanese food - Food quality wasn’t the best but decent for a quick meal - Bento Box was filled with sauce and too much rice, the chicken to rice ratio was a bit off - Sushi also had a bad rice to chicken ratio Overall decent place! I suggest only come here to get quick and cheap Japanese meals All the best

The menu had me so excited! It had all a Japanese restaurant could offer, sections for: sushi, sashimi, udon, salads, obento boxes, curry, ramen. The restaurant felt nice and cosy too. The service is super friendly, attentive and just lovely. Our first dish was the small tempura, we were tempted to get a large but the waitress was honest enough to tell us that the small was large enough (which I really appreciated). The tempura dish came out first and it was SO DAMN GOOD. It was definitely a generous portion. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Unfortunately, our following dishes were very disappointing. We ordered two sushi dishes and it seemed like they used plain rice (instead of sushi rice with rice vinegar). The rice was overcooked, very soft. The sauce didn't seem right too. We ordered a spicy salmon mania sushi, and it was weird that the spice came from just a Sriracha sauce instead of the usual japanese chilli flakes. Don't get me wrong, I love sriacha but it just didn't suit the sushi we had (salmon and avocado). Sadly, it was enough to not make me want to come back (even though I really liked the...

Maybe some other things are good but the Tempura Udon is not. The noodles were fine (not hard to do). The broth was ok, yeah it's cheap, whatevs. The tempura was a revolting oil soaked mess resembling something out of a really really bad fish and chip shop in the 80s. Tempura is meant to be light and crispy and does not soak up the oil. I could barely taste the vegetable matter for the disgusting fried oil. Speaking of vegetable matter, tempura is also meant to be balanced. I got 4 pieces of stodgy dripping sweet potato, two pieces of soggy oil soaked eggplant and one prawn that looked and tasted like it was cooked in thick bad fish and chip shop batter in the 80s. Have they changed the oil since then? A bean or two might have been nice in lieu of okra. Yes, I appreciate it is cheap but so are beans. Do your customers' health a favour and serve food the way Japanese serve it if you are purporting to be a...

Food is pretty average but what it is unacceptably below any standards is the cleanliness of this place .... the floor hasn’t been moped for weeks now cause I went once two weeks ago and same disgusting stains were there the day before yesterday and the same goes for tables.... there is obviously a lack of management or a caring owner that rocks up to the place to check that everything is up to standards, staff are more busy on their phones that making sure the place is impecable. Wipe the menus, mop the floors wipe the table boxes full finger prints ... everything in that place needs a thorough clean and It should be kept it like that every day.... this is the reason I’m never coming back cause it is disgusting.... and it all starts from management... which there is none... shame I can post the photos I took but I’m thinking to chuck them in the general...
