My favourite pizza place in town! So grateful they’ve reopened. It was very sad when they were closed for more than half a year due to lack of staff!! I’ve never had fried pizza before pizza fritta so I’m so happy this is available in Sydney. My favourite is the Chiara, with tomato, mozzarella, pepper and Basil. I personally like the regular size ($15) more than the large, since there’s more fried area, but its only good for 1-2 people. The large makes more sense economically for a larger group ($22). Usually I wold like the meat option since it costs the same price, but for the fried pizza, the meat becomes too salty in the pizza. We also tried the classica 180 - but that has no tomato sauce, so becomes quite dry.. The neopolitan pizza is also amazing here. Pizza Magherita really hits the spot - the tomato sauce is the right mix of sweet and tangy. And the mozzarella is nice and chewy. The neopolitan pizza has a softer middle, so fold your pizza otherwise it will drip everywhere! The aranciatta is also very delicious, great to share with 4 - 1 each is quite filling. The mussels in fried pizza bowl is also great, just depending on the freshness of the mussels. We had it on a day where the freshness was slightly off and that affected the sauce quite a lot. Nutella Bombolini dessert was a bit much to get alongside with the various fried pizzas. On its own, it was very tasty, and you get a whole jar of Nutella to enjoy with the dessert. Friendly staff. Most of the seats are along the street, so it can get chilly if the heat lamps are not on outside of summer days. The seats indoors are few.

Unfortunately, they did not reach our expectations. We went on a Friday night with a couple of friends, booking in advance. We were seated on the street in front of a garage door, in an uncomfortable a bit sloped and dark place. We would recommend to request a table inside on your booking specifications just in case. We can understand that it's based on a street food concept, but then the price would need to be reduced. We prefer to have an indoor or owned terrace experience. On the other side, we have to highlight that the staff was really nice and attentive as much as they could, but the place was really crowded and you could feel that tension. In our opinion, the overcrowded situation was also reflected in the food. The pizzas served to us looked authentic, but we personally missed a little bit of flavour and a coherent proportion of cheese and the other ingredients on the Pizza Fritta. The Friarielli Insalata was a bit bland. We are sure that if they improve this little things or rent a bigger space they would be amazing!

I think that my friends may have built this place up in my head a little too much, it was sold to me as having really good sides and share plates, along with of course, the fried pizza. I also think that it might be a 4 or a 5 for an awesome summer time hang. Tonight was super cold and all the doors and window were still open which made it kind of chilly. I get it's a street food puzzle so that's why theirs stools as the seats and it's aiming to be a Napoli street scene, but for me it's kind of stick in between a restaurant and Street food, trying to be both but being neither at the same time. The pizza fritta was good, I'm sure the one we had in Naples only tasted better because we were on an awesome Italian holiday at the same time, the service was good and attentive, but there were only two other tables seated when we went. The menu is reasonably priced (~$30ish/p) and the drink selection is good. Will definitely be back, but will probably wait until a nice warm summers day and try a few of their Aperol spritz too!

Ahhhh Pizza Fritta 180, the restaurant that truly caught my girlfriend and I by surprise. The initial experience, a year or so ago, was unfortunately plagued by a sense of survival from the drastic experience at a local cat cafe - a perfect moment to realise one’s allergy towards them - but one that also remained with me long after. We were surprised in the manner that the pizzas came in, undoubtedly unorthodox to this ignorant fellow, but fascinating and mouth-watering nonetheless. The experience was refreshing.

It was only recently where we found ourselves once again piercing through the upward terrain of Surry Hills, leaving us with a great deal of exhaustion and hunger - the decision to intermittently fast did not help in this instance. Exploring the suburb once again did bring us back to the land of familiarity, with the restaurant back again on our radar. This time, instead of the hustle and bustle of the dinner crowd, we were treated to the calming traffic of lunch.

Opening up their compact, but gorgeous, menu allowed us to be treated to the wonderful photos of Sophia Loren - a sight that tickled my cinephile sensibilities. Gazing beyond the acting legend was the selection of food, all of which were appetising. Deciding to let my girlfriend steer the wheel on what we would be having, the decision ultimately came down to the “Prosciutto & Buffalo Mozzarella” and the “Elena” - the latter a Pizza Fritta that is composed of pork cheek, provolone cheese, ricotta & pepper. With a second time around, there is always this caution that one has towards one’s expectations, whether such could live up to its own. In this regard, I can definitely say that the experience drew us into it even further.

The food, whilst not entirely generous for the price one pays, is refined. The pizza offerings act as more of a bigger brother to the mainstream counterpart and provide one with a combination of flavours that are rarely explored. I noted that Kat and I just kept on going in consuming these dishes, with an eventual conclusion to the entire thing feeling appropriately full but not heavily stuffed; this is stated without a hint of disappointment. Not to mention, this was an experience that took place on the outdoor tables of the restaurant, leaving us with a warm and calming view of the park right across the street. I would also like to note that the waitress that served us was lovely, enthusiastic, considerate, and prompt.

Perhaps I didn’t drench this with enough hyperbole to warrant the generous rating that comes with this write-up but one cannot deny that I only have positivity to provide for this restaurant. I only hope that it wouldn’t be a year anymore before my...

My friends and I have been wanting to come here since last year and were excited to finally get the chance to go. However, that excitement was sorted lived unfortunately. When we got there the girl asked how many we had in our party and started walking away before I even had the chance to mention that we had booked a table. We were taken to a table as far away from the restaurant as possible, quite literally in the corner outside with terribly lighting and hardly any heating. We found this a bit annoying considering we took the time to book but we overlooked it as a minor inconvenience. Since we were seated as far away from the front doors as possible, it took quite a while to get any service so once we finally did we tried ordering as quickly as possible and half way through ordering our waitress literally zoned out and stared off in opposite direction. It took me a few times to get her attention again and needless to say we were a bit shocked. The food came out quickly but our mains came out before the entrée. The food itself was so disappointing - completely understand that fried pizza might not be to everyone's taste but was we found it severely lacking in flavour. It was honestly just a very mediocre pizza. The food highlight was the black garlic aioli that came with the calamari. Eventually someone remembered us and asked if we needed anything else but we just wanted the bill. While we were paying, the waitress took our drinks away which weren't finished and it really just summed up an incredibly poor experience. I never want to criticise people that work in hospitality because it's such a hard industry to work in especially during peak times but in all honesty, the service was really poor and after reading through some of the other reviews I can see we aren't the only people to have noticed it - I really hope the owners make note of this and actually investment in more training for their staff. What was more disappointing was that the table next to us got great, friendly service and we just noticed such a stark difference between our service and theirs. I really dislike posting negative reviews but we just had such a bad experience that I couldn't not say something. In our opinion. the food is overrated and service extremely poor. Unfortunately will not...

Unfortunately I have almost no good things to say about this experience. In summary, it was the worst service with sub standard food. Not a winning combination and I will never go back, in fact, I would encourage you to spend your dollars elsewhere. Anywhere really. It always seems busy when I walk past, and a friend had said it was good so I wanted to give it a try. First, we had a question on the menu (a few items were listed in Italian only), which neither waiter could help with. We then asked about pizza size, and received a blank look. We then ordered a few items, only to receive the pizza literally 4 minutes later despite having also ordered what were clearly called 'appetisers'. Almost comically, we asked where the appetizers were and the waiter looked panicked (he had clearly forgotten), so another jumped in to say 'it all comes together'. This wasn't mentioned, and did not seem to be the case with other tables, so appeared to be a casual lie. They also couldn't remember which pizza was vegetarian, and which was pork... After we had actually finished our pizza, the appetizers appeared! So we had a small, distinctly nondescript burrata and some overly pepper and salted, very boney cod for dessert . Needless to say, we did not order actual dessert when asked. To add insult to injury, we were asked if everything was ok from a third waiter who came over to ask us to pay (the others hadn't thought to ask despite half a plate left of cod). We listed the issues and she just said 'oh.. yes... Please tap here and pay now'. This has never happened in my life - the care factor of the staff was just zero. Sadly, overall the pizza failed to impress, but the service was the worst I've had in Sydney. Whoever managers this restaurant, please retrain your staff in the basics. And patrons, go to one of the many alternative pizza...
