Went here on a Saturday afternoon looking to just get a simple ice cream cone. The cafe is mostly empty and there were no other customers ordering. As I approached the ice cream display (where I assumed I could just order the ice cream, as is usual in most ice cream stalls) I made eye contact with the teenage staff member behind the counter who was standing nearby, trying to imply I wished to be served. Besides the eye contact, the staff member did not acknowledge me in any way, and promptly walked to the staff member at the cash register who was fumbling around with something or other. I found that a little strange (borderline rude), I thought maybe I was meant to go to the counter to order, though this was not made overtly clear or told to me, I just had to guess. I stood there obviously wanting to order, while the staff member was still fumbling tapping away for some reason, and the coworker I encountered stood next to him as they had a conversation. The staff member at the counter made eye contact with me several times, but didn't seem as though he was going to take my order, ask me to wait, or even acknowledge me (honestly it felt like i was just a bystander being creepy towards two strangers having a conversation), and continued to talk to his female coworker. An awkward amount of time passed, and in the end I gave up and left.

Read moreI placed an online order at San Churro Chatswood using the QR code at my table. We were sitting close to the counter and saw our order receipt get printed immediately after we placed it, so we assumed our food would be coming out shortly.
Instead, we sat there for 15–20 minutes watching the front-of-house staff chatting, laughing, and not doing much. It was pretty obvious they weren't preparing orders, especially since the store was nearly empty, this was around midday on a Sunday.
I finally went up to ask about the order, and only then did one of the staff members go to the receipt printer, grab the slip, and try to claim the machine was “delayed.” I watched the receipt print in real-time after placing the order and even got an email confirmation immediately, there was no delay. It felt like a blatant attempt to shift blame rather than take responsibility.
Thankfully, the manager was professional and processed a refund for us. But the rest of the staff clearly weren’t paying attention or taking their job seriously.
