This place has some serious teething issues. I get they’re new here and there are some learning curves, but they have been quite established in Melbourne so they don’t have an excuse with how their stores are managed.
There was some confusion with where the queue started as there weren’t any signs. Some of us queued along the glass window and were told that was for people waiting for their order then we were redirected inside near the counter. One minute later another staff member tells us the queue starts on the other side of the velvet barrier outside the store. This caused 90% of those lining up to move. As we were approaching the front, we were told they were closing and were running out of stock. Umm… seriously?! Why would they make people queue up and waste their time like that? This could’ve been prevented by 2 things:
Put up a sign on the velvet barrier to clearly indicate where the queue starts. By not signposting it, you are leaving it up to the customers to decide and this leads to confusion.
Start cutting the queue 15 minutes prior to closing - do not let new people line up.
You can’t tell customers who have given up their time in good faith you can’t serve them after they have queued for so long.
In the end, we got ice cream that was extremely runny and started melting as soon as it was handed to us - not sure if it’s because it was the scraps. It wasn’t even that good...
Read moreI remember the first Godiva store in Sydney was at Sydney International airport about 10 years ago, and I would also go to Godiva while overseas because I enjoy their hot chocolate or iced chocolate drink so much. I’m glad Sydney finally decided to open a proper store and good to see other locations open in Australia as well. Godiva Chatswood can is located inside Westfields shopping centre on Anderson St entrance.
Godiva is know for high quality & a luxury Belgium chocolate brand in the world. The store sells chocolates in gift boxes, pretzels, biscuits, a variety of cold chocolate drinks, tea crushes, tea/coffee, variety of hot chocolate drinks and most and Ice-cream.
I used to love buying their drinks, but I have yet to buy a drink to try as I’ve been trying their ice-cream. As you would except, chocolate taste pretty good however the ice-cream is served as a soft serve so the texture is milky rather than creamy. I’ve also tried their biscuits, pretzels and chocolates and they’re all taste very nice and addictive.
I don’t live near Chatswood, so I can’t enjoy Godiva as often as other people. If you live nearby, go have a try and see what you think, I’m sure you’ll...
Read moreCame around late lunch to get an ice cream. There was no one around, we paid for the ice cream and hung about for a few min AT THE PICKUP WINDOW. Then we realized that nobody was attending to our order. I don't assume it would be time-consuming to pump a soft serve into a cone. The staff were standing and talking among each other, oblivious that someone is waiting for their order. I had to ask them if the machine broke down or if they were waiting for something. Nope, we got our ice cream eventually, but yeah, it was kinda annoying! If I had assumed they did their job, we would probably still be waiting for our ice cream! 3 star because the ice...
