WARNING FOR GROUP BOOKINGS - Terrible experience from start to finish.The event planner Claudine was highly difficult to work with and refused to make any amendments to our booking. Our initial inquiry prior to payment had 18 people on the booking for the food and drinks package. After a few people pulled out, we notified Claudine that our booking had changed a day prior to our booking. IMPORTANT to note that NO deposit had been made to ‘confirm’ our booking. Initially we requested to reduce the numbers in the booking form. When we were met with a stern no we then paid for the 18 people but requested that the payment made for those who pulled out would go towards the drinks tab. Claudine responded that they were not going to change the amount of food from the initial 18 person booking and we would have to be served 18 people’s worth of food. She stated that they had already ordered and paid for extra food prior to payment being made. When we spoke to management they said it was our responsibility to notify Claudine by 4pm of that day, despite us already informing her the previous morning. During our event, each order of drinks would take 30 minutes to arrive. We also ended up with an excess of food for the people we had informed would not be attending. As an event planner, isn’t a part of your role working with your client and accounting for unforeseen circumstances and changes to the booking? It is ridiculous to force patrons to be served excess food for people who were unable to attend. You would think that event planners and the bar itself would provide flexibility and provide a positive experience to encourage people to come back in future. needed a swipe to be let up which set the expectation quite high for a premier experience…this definitely wasn’t met very quiet, little atmosphere. Playing light rock music which didn’t seem to match the decor of the place was instructed to use the QR code on the table to order…found this troublesome. The waitress came around to check on my progress and after seeing that I was struggling, didn’t offer to take my order in the traditional way. So I went up to the bar and asked if I could just order and pay in person. They were ok with this. ordered a $26 cosmopolitan which we realised later was on tap and tasted like melted lollies Moscow mule was very very watered down and didn’t seem to come from the hands of an experienced cocktail maker, despite it being very expensive ordered cheeseburger spring rolls and fried calamari which were $26/$25 dollars each…they came out in cheap woven baskets that fried chicken wings at your local pub would come in, and looked and tasted like they were packet fast food the glass of wine ($18) I ended up getting was served in a plastic wine glass

Overall

I have no idea why the prices are so expensive when the quality of the food so very clearly does not match. It’s not even a matter of taste…it’s very obviously cheap alcohol and food made to look expensive simply because it’s served on a rooftop with a pool and nice view.

This place has so much potential but the owners and management need to step in and either lower their prices or serve drinks/food to match.

After the experience I had with my family last night , I’m surprised how this establishment is still running (and also receiving good reviews). Don’t bother making a reservation to eat at this establishment , upon arriving at the bar you’re greeted by staff members that are running around not knowing where they’re meant to be , you don’t get seated straight away, you have to wait in a line of people ordering drinks at the bar to then get to the front and still wait because they were unable to find the bookings sheet. We were then given a menu to order food from , when trying to order said menu items (after again waiting 30mins in the line at the bar) , the owner proceeded to tell us “ quick quick “ which was then followed by him leaving us , two other staff members coming to the till and then being told the menu items aren’t available , you can only order burgers? That’s not the worst of it , we ordered 3 lychee cocktails for the ladies which were then given to two different tables and after an hour of this treatment , the waitress would continue to walk past and not even ask if they were our drinks. By the time we received our food , it wasn’t even room temperature and the bun tasted stale , when leaving the bar , we went to the bar to get our receipt as the waitress would bring food items to our table we didn’t order. They then proceeded to tell us that they can’t do that , back and forth for 5mins arguing for the waitress to then finally pull her finger out and get the receipt.
