We’re not regulars, but we stopped by the area for Sunday lunch. The food was better than average with a good variety of options, ranging from typical Vietnamese dishes to a broader Asian-inspired menu. However, the service left much to be desired.
We ordered three Vietnamese lunch dishes and a combination fried rice for my 10-year-old. After 25 minutes, all of our Vietnamese dishes arrived, but the fried rice was still missing. I asked the waitress to check on it, but she never returned with an update. After another five minutes, I went to the counter to follow up.
Ten minutes later, a small fried rice dish finally arrived. The waitress apologised, saying the kitchen was busy. However, it wasn’t the dish we ordered. Naturally, my child was disappointed after waiting 40 minutes. When I questioned the order, the waitress insisted that I had ordered the wrong dish and claimed that I had confirmed it.
When I went to pay, the receipt clearly showed that I had ordered the combination fried rice. But what we ultimately received was a small egg fried rice. Having worked in hospitality, I empathise with the situation, but their half-hearted apologies only added to the disappointment. Based on this recent experience, I wouldn’t return to this restaurant or recommend...

Overall food was well prepared and put together. My main complaint was that the pork chop rice combination was not made with broken rice. Com Tam is literally named after this specific fragrant rice grain. Italian basil was used rather than thai basil, which is understandable given costs and availability.
Service was friendly and prompt with the only niggle of putting through one of the dishes as an entree, which resulted in our table of 4 watching the only person with food eat their meal for quite a while.
Like other reviewers pointed out, the acoustics here can be a challenge. The restaurant was 3/4 full and at times you had to strain or raise your voice to have a conversation. But hey, the market like ambience adds to the...
Read moreA Parramatta Gem for Vietnamese Flavors! Tam Tam in Parramatta truly impressed! The chicken laksa was a highlight: a creamy, rich broth brimming with tender chicken and fresh toppings – utterly satisfying. The chicken stir-fry with garlic sauce was equally delicious, featuring perfectly cooked chicken and crisp vegetables in a fragrant sauce, served with fluffy rice. Both dishes showcased excellent flavor and fresh ingredients. What truly elevated our experience was the 5-star service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome. As a baby-friendly establishment, they were also very accommodating, which we greatly appreciated. Fantastic food, top-notch service, and great value make this a must-visit...
