We’ve been to this bar before and always had a lovely experience. This time, we ordered two glasses of wine and something to eat, followed by a bottle and a second course. My boyfriend ordered a glass of red wine — Sacrisassi — but unfortunately, it was corked. We mentioned it immediately, and the staff took it away without hesitation, which we appreciated.

However, when we asked for the bill, we noticed the glass of Sacrisassi was still included. This is not a matter of money, but of principle — the wine clearly wasn’t good. We are Italian and know this winery very well; the wine was unmistakably corked.

When I mentioned it to the waitress, she explained that the manager had said the wine was fine and that “it’s just how it tastes.” Again, we are very familiar with this bottle, and that was not the case.

We expressed our disappointment in person, kindly and verbally. The waitress offered to bring another glass, which I accepted — but only if it came from a newly opened bottle. Unfortunately, they were out of stock. In the end, she kindly offered a refund, which I declined, and asked her to keep the amount as a tip.

This is just a friendly reminder — please make sure the wine is checked before serving it. We’ll definitely come back, as we’ve always enjoyed the place, but with a little more attention to detail, we would be even happier. You need to respect the producer, because they are a small, family-run winery — and serving a corked wine gives a bad image...

11-may-2019, sat 8pm. When we got here it was almost full, at about 9 it started getting less crowded. From about 10 it was half empty. They have a really good area near the entrance with a big table surrounded by an armchair a large couch and several tables. They also keep playing cards and an exploding kittens pack there. They also have what seems to be a private area towards the back, down the corridor. The staff are incredibly nice and polite. I wanted to start the night with something light, just a tonic. I wanted to pay but bartender said it wasn't necessary. I later bought a gin and tonic, see photo (Mulberry type, SA, 13$). It was good. I can't remember but I think they're missing a proper large sign with the place's name. They just had a small blackboard outside with some small writing saying 'Where's Nick?". I...

Oh what a night! What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this fantastic place? The wine list is exceptional but even more so because Bridget their sommelier expertly guided us through it and we had some amazing bottles in styles (and from regions around the world) that we had never had before 💥 She really knows her stuff and was super nice to boot! The number of sherries by the glass is one small indication of the unique and considered offering of this bar. All the food is deliciously more-ish and we ordered the Oritz anchovy dish twice but the hands down best dish was their version of a crispy hash brown topped with salmon roe 👏 I wish I had some photos to post of this small but atmospheric place but I was too busy drinking, eating and enjoying the ambiance of it all. Do yourself a favour and book a...

An intimate wine bar set up with tables and a bar to sit at. Small food menu, large wine menu (as to be expected). I was surprised not to see fuller wines such as Malbec or Merlot, possibly the wine list changes. The menu has a little bit of everything. The anchovy and preserved lemon butter crostini was a standout. Perfectly balance of rich, salty, sour and sweet. The focaccia was dense and perfectly oiled. The grilled octopus was soft, tender and full of flavour, and combined with crispy potatoes was sensational. I thought the pickled eggplant was lacking in texture and flavour. Good service, would return to try different wines and food menu.

Where’s Nick.. what a treat. From the moment you walk into this venue you’re greeted with warmth. All night we felt welcomed and looked after - service is genuine. We were guided through the menu, and provided options for a variety of dietary requirements. There was something for everyone. The food was perfect. Each dish had its own unique flavours, and it’s obvious that the quality of produce is of a high standard. The beef carpaccio is some of the best I’ve had in Sydney. I’ll definitely be returning!
