We knew Zigi's was a cheese and wine bar, we did not realise they serve delicious food too... Last Friday night after a movie, we decided to go to Zigi's as it was quite late but we hadn't had dinner. Little did we realise we walked into the den of quirkiness, randomness, and deliciousness. The main person who initially greeted and looked after us was warm and helpful. She recommended how many dishes we could share and what was popular. We ended up getting 4 dishes! The lamb, kangaroo, pork belly and desserts (amazing tasting platter)!! The food was also so beautiful, perfectly balanced- so hit the spot! We did notice there was an interesting man sauntering around, in a cool hat, becoming a bit louder and roudier. I knew there was a 'Zigi' who owned the place. After the mysterious man cheers the bar in tribute to the late and great Tina Turner, we introduce ourselves. The man with the hat was, in fact, Zigi. Many cocktails were drunk. Zigi specially made and served me a very special filthy gin Martini with Syrian olives - what a treat. There were also a couple of regulars there, one kindly shouted us a round of shots, thank you, kind mystery woman. Then, as we decided to wander into the night, Zigi and the other regular were outside. We went to say goodbye but ended up staying maybe 20 minutes more gabbing with Zigi and learning more about this special place of his. Very cool vibe, delicious food, and expect the delightfully unexpected.

We booked Zigi’s a week prior to the required date. As we had a party of 16 it made sense to select food in advance to save time and money. The email communication was easy and all replies were received quickly. On the day we were greeted as we were long time friends and the food was served as a progressive dinner- no one tried to rush us, we had our own cosy space (in the garden) and the food … absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for a group of 20 in the back garden. Preordering food was a great idea and all our dietary restrictions were met! The only thing I regret is I didn’t take pictures of all the food we had as I was having such a great time eating it! Here are the only two I have! Guess I need to come again and take more photos of things I order 🤷🏻‍♀️💃🏻 Thank you Zigi!

Really enjoyed this intimately cozy and quiet (on the night I was there) little bar. The outdoor terrace in the back was a nice place to dine with small company and the darts provided entertainment. The service and staff were great - friendly and made us feel welcomed. However they didn’t have 2 out of the 5 dishes we wanted from the menu and the portions are tiny. In reply: I believe you have the wrong customer? I was there in a group of three people total on a Monday night.

An absolute hidden gem with great vibes and great staff. I booked the outdoor area on a Thursday night for a group of 15 - and Zigi's completely exceeded our expectations.

The outdoor area was very cosy and charming - decked out with fairy lights and was completely covered to protect us from the rain. It was intimate yet spacious enough for us to be comfortable.

The service was also top notch. As soon as we arrived, Antony (the bartender) made us feel very welcome and was the reason why people lingered around the bar for a while when they went to get more drinks (as they were having such a terrific time talking to him!). Antony was very helpful in recommending drinks and food (which were all reasonably priced) - get the crispy cauliflower bites and the mixed dips!

Zigi also came by to say a warm hello to us and to make sure we were having a great time (which we were). In fact, all of us had such great time that I've already made our next...

Zigi’s is my local, as a Chippendale resident, and I’ve been visiting semi-regularly for almost 12 months. I had my 30th at Zig’s bar, and was in very good hands. Zig remembered in passing I had mentioned being vegetarian and catered a very beautiful selection of snacks (dips, pizzas, antipasti) for me and my friends, which was done at a very good price. His selection of wine is superior; you can easily pick something randomly from the menu if you’re not sure what you like, guaranteed it will be good quality. Staff are also very good at adjusting drinks menu for non-drinkers. Zig is always a lot of fun, and makes a big effort to look after his patrons. It’s also a very inclusive venue - as a queer person I not only feel safe at his bar but celebrated (there is a very proud rainbow flag at the bar!). Faultless venue, and lots of love to Zig and...
