Extremely Disappointing Experience

I recently visited this restaurant and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, the service left much to be desired. Despite clearly requesting a table for three, the server inexplicably led us to a table designed for two. It was an immediate sign of their lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer preferences.

When I politely pointed out the mistake and requested an additional chair, the server displayed an astonishing level of impatience. Instead of addressing the issue promptly, she dismissively told us to wait for her. As paying customers, we expected to be treated with respect and courtesy, even during busy periods.

However, the most appalling part of this encounter was yet to come. After reminding the server about our need for one more share plate, she responded by rolling her eyes at us. This blatant display of disrespect and unprofessional behaviour completely shocked and infuriated me. It is unacceptable for a customer-facing employee to treat guests in such a rude and dismissive manner.

As I reflect on this experience, it becomes evident that there is a serious issue with the shop's management. It is their responsibility to ensure that employees are properly trained in customer service etiquette. Treating customers with politeness, attentiveness, and a genuine desire to provide a positive experience should be the norm, not the exception.

I sincerely hope that the management of Leega takes these concerns seriously and addresses them promptly. As a customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect and courtesy, and it is disheartening when establishments fail to meet even these minimal standards.

Regrettably, I cannot recommend LEEGA based on my experience. I hope that sharing this review will not only bring attention to the subpar service I encountered but also serve as a reminder for the shop's management to prioritize customer satisfaction and improve their overall service quality.

Remember, when customers choose where to spend their hard-earned money, they expect a pleasant and respectful experience. Unfortunately, the LEEGA fell far short of meeting these...

I want to start out and say that the quality of the food is good and has remained consistent over the years that they've been open, a little on the sweeter side for the banchan but overall pretty good!

Unfortunately they seemed incredibly understaffed tonight and while I appreciate the efforts to keep the establishment open as someone that works in hospitality myself, the service was unprofessional, inconsistent and created what felt like a hostile environment. We've previously been customers that spend $600+ in an evening, but we simply did not feel welcomed to stay, and it was made clear that despite confirming that we would be able to dine longer than normal, we weren't welcomed to.

I had contacted Leega's Facebook page the morning of our booking to confirm that our group would be able to possibly stay over the set 90 minute dining time (which upon arrival was displayed as only 80 minutes?). 20 minutes into eating, after waiting 15 minutes total for our meat to arrive, we were told that we had 40 minutes left (bringing our dining time down to 75 minutes).

At the start of the night when I ordered, I had confirmed with the waitstaff that a payment of both cash and card would be able to be done as we knew we didn't have enough with either cash or card alone, which we were told was okay. However at the end of the meal, we were told that "split payments" were not allowed and not possible. We had to have another member of our group transfer money to the card holder in order to pay.

It's disappointing to feel that you are actually unwelcome at an establishment, that your order is a hassle and any additional asks (such as asking for a refill of the sides) is more than an annoyance. We ended up spending half of what we intended to spend and spent less than 75 minutes there. We didn't bother resting after we finished our meals and went to another place for dessert.

I want to say that I'd give it another go on another night as we used to be semi-frequent customers and the quality of the food is still good, but with the service tonight it just doesn't...

Unfortunately the customer service and also the quality of food were very poor. If I can rate a restaurant on minus, this would be the one.

Paying such a high price we expect good quality of meat but instead the beef bulgugi was more like breaking pieces of beef mince with extremely sweet marinating. So does the spicy cold noodle, not even a bit spicy taste but extremely sweet too.

Obviously the red haired staff was on her bad day the day we go. Just by standing in front of the fridge to see what drinks they have, my friend got greeted by her: “please order drink through QR code, it’s very rude if you take drinks by yourself.”that was the first time we got called rude. Then, seeing them being so busy, my friend went to the cutlery station to take a share plate, the red hair staff once again called her rude. As someone who also work in hospitality industry, I got a lot of customers self serve themselves without asking, it would be very nice of you to say “can I help you?” instead of calling your customer rude directly.

I don’t see any problem of taking pictures when you walking a restaurant, doesn’t matter the photo was taken by camera or phone. If it’s forbidden to take photos in your restaurant, you probably need to put a sign on. Plus, we didn’t take photos of staff neither customer.

As a charcoal grill restaurant, the charcoal wasn’t flamed enough and the whole grill process was more like smoking and steaming so our pork belly couldn’t even get very crispy skin.

We just went to geelong for a long weekend trip last week but suddenly craved for barbecue and now we are very regret and sorry to chose this restaurant. Not because we just got bad food and bad customer service but also got judged by the restaurant on google review. I don’t see what we did to deserve this. We have been to many different Korean barbecue restaurants in Melbourne, compare with the price, customer service and quality of food, I would totally not recommend this one to anyone. And NO THANKS, WE WILL NOT GOING BACK EVEN...

I can't recommend this restaurant. We booked for 9 people but the seating was only made for 8. When we asked for an extra table to accommodate 9 people, they insisted for one of our friends to sit in front of the hot hibachi grill instead. Serving time is too long, the entree portion is too small for 9 people. The service water felt like it was straight from the tap and not even refrigerated. Also, the first batch of the charcoal already burnt-away before they can even give us tongs and scissors. I don't think there is an insufficient staff but maybe lack of training as they seemed to be unorganised and just running around. They gave us a wrong grille to cook/bbq the pork which ended-up being to smokey burnt most of it then tried to ask us why we are using that grille. Like really?! They missed one soup and when we asked for it after quite some time, instead of apologisong while my friend is explaining that one soup was not served yet, the wait staff just went away without finishing the conversation then 1 staff came back checking as if we were lying to them. Few big hazards are: the rubbish bin is just outside near customers. Not only is that it's not so good to see, it is unhealthy as well (see pic attached). Also, the way the staff carry the burning charcoal, it is only a matter of time until a staff or a customer gets burned because they just carry it with some sort of tongs rather than stabilising it with a trolly. Imaging if a kid is runnig around or a busy staff is not mindful of their surroundings. Finally the taste of their food were just average and the meats were not even that tender if I were to describe it generously. Not worth the wait and troubles.
