I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wharf shed Hotel, and it was a delightful experience overall. The food quality stood out remarkably, with each dish prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. The selection of alcohol was equally impressive, featuring a diverse range of high-quality options that complemented the meal perfectly. The ambiance and atmosphere of wharf shed are noteworthy. The setting is both inviting and stylish, creating a comfortable environment ideal for both casual dining and special occasions. The superb service further enhanced the experience, with staff being attentive, friendly, and efficient throughout our visit. One of the standout features of wharf shed Hotel is its pocket-friendly menu. Despite the high quality of the food and service, the prices are very reasonable, offering excellent value for money. However, there is room for improvement in the variety of vegetarian options available. While the existing vegetarian dishes were well-prepared, expanding the menu to include more choices would greatly benefit vegetarian diners and ensure a more inclusive dining experience. In summary, Wharf Shed offers a great dining experience with superb food and alcohol, a lovely ambiance, excellent service, and a budget-friendly menu. With a few more vegetarian options, it would be an even more fantastic place to dine. Overall, it is definitely a place worth visiting.

Had a great experience here. Top tier staff who were not only prompt and efficient, but also kind and very considerate. They allowed us to sit outside with our dog, brought him water and were attentive of my grandmother's mobility issues making the whole experience a breeze. Many small and attentive gestures showed that the staff are a phenomenal asset to Wharf Shed. Food was great value for money, great portions, fresh and delicious. Coffee was stellar. Take home box for the massive wedges (so fresh and delicious). Disabled parking immediately next to the café. Great view overlooking the water and a clean and open park adjacent. View included watching the helicopter, right in front of the cafe, take off and land to give short rides to the tourists (yet was not noisy or of any bother!) and one can see the ferris wheel not far away. The ambience was fantastic (beautiful live music) and this great cafe at a fantastic location was the highlight of the Geelong trip. Tourists will love this friendly and clean restaurant cafe with great food at a safe, beautiful and accommodating location. 5/5 Visited: Sunday 3rd March 2024

I have to say, from a dinner perspective, The Wharf Shed is probably one of the worst places to go in Geelong. First of all, they never pick up their phone and never call back. I attempted to call them several times over the course of 3 days to adjust a reservation and they were completely unresponsive. When entering the premises, there was no one attending and had to figure out where to go myself. There was nothing to indicate where to go to order food. The food arrived remarkably quick when ordered, almost too quick which was a red flag as it became apparent the food had very little in the way of quality for an average $30 meal. 1. Salt & Pepper Calamari was lukewarm and chewy. $30 2. Pork Belly was dry and the chilli caramel was basically absent. The pork crackling was basically eating plastic. $38 3. Wharf Shed Paella tasted like it was warmed up in a microwave. $30 4. Sweet Potato Chips were soggy and the aoili tasted spoilt. $16 5. Chicken Parmigiana was half decent, except for the cheese. Almost worth it as long as you don't look at the $32 pricetag. 6. Hawaiian Pizza was abysmal. The base was undercooked and the cheese was absolutely disgusting. $25 7. Seafood Coquettes were more potato with hints of seafood. $19.50 8. Crab Vol Au Vents come in 3s, but only 1 of them actually had crab in it. $21 The Wharf Shed relies too much on their proximity to the waterfront and fails in basically every other regard. They should honestly downscale to being purely a bar with basic pub food if the quality of such meals to be as pathetic as they are. I won't be returning to this establishment under my own free will.

Very polite staff, Saturday lunch service is a busy one so expect 25-30 minute wait for food. Best to reserve if you want a good a good seat. I had the gummy shark and my partner had the salt and pepper calamari. Calamari was hot, fresh and delicious served with hot chips! The calamari was definitely the better dish of the two, it had a fantastic flavour. Gummy shark was Fresh, lupe warm and served with warm and cold chips which was a bit of a disappointment. I tried a chip from each plate and mine were mostly cold but my partners were fresh and hot! I was a bit jealous. Set aside the cold chips. 2 dishes ordered and 2 drinks cost over 70$ So it’s a bit more on the pricey side for something that didn’t come out hot. I’d expect everything to be hot at the price. Lovely decor though. But sad about the price not matching the quality. I’d hope the venue to produce some consistency. I would also like to add that I did provide feedback and staff offered to get me some hot chips or a slice of cake which was really appreciated but I’d filled up on my Coke Zero by that point, so I did decline. But I can say the customer service from front of house staff is really up there. Some of the best I’ve had. Very lovely people. 1 dish out of the 2. So I would still give this place another go.

Yesterday, we visited this place for dinner. I ordered Paella, the portion was very small for over $30, and the rice had a very weird texture and smell. The paella rice tasted mouldy. It was as though the rice had developed mould and been spoiled. I had 2 spoons of the paella to reconfirm, and even my friend confirmed the rice tasted mouldy. This is health concerning. I could have got food poisoned. I told the guy who served us, who was really lovely, he took the food away and apologised. Then, a lady with dark hair who had a lot of attitude came with a menu and asked what I wanted for a replacement and walked off. She didn’t even apologised for the horrible paella that was served as far as I can remember. The way she spoke to me as was as though the restaurant is doing me a favour by giving me a replacement for the horrible meal they served in first place. It was ridiculous. The restaurant needs to train staffs to learn how to handle feedback professionally, not in passive aggressive way. The staff also need to make it clear that customers need to go to the register to place an order while sitting customers down. The bar staffs were so lovely. The replacement meal calamari with chips and salad was much better. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

Easily one of the worst places I have eaten in my life and THE worst when it comes to price-quality. When I spend over $150 for three people eating one thing each and drinking coffee and a milkshake, I expect the food to be at least decent and the service to be great. We were welcomed by someone who took forever to understand the basic concept of "my friend is already waiting for me". We ordered one salad (oily and with terribly cooked ingredients), a couple of drinks (the milkshake was ok, the coffee was burnt), a schnitzel (cold, poorly cooked and probably just defrosted) and whatever is the thing that they call "home-made pizza" (seriously: look at the picture. Does it look like a pizza margherita? Because that's what they sell it as. Have they ever seen a pizza? I could barely find the tomato, the dough had no salt and the burnt stuff on top is REALLY not supposed to exist). Whoever is their chef, I really hope there is a reason for that mess of a thing. Unedible. And the rest was not better. Do yourself a favor and do NOT go there. Even if you just want a beer, there are WAY cheaper places to visit. Nothing justifies paying these prices for such a terrible quality of food and barely average quality of service.
