Betty's Burgers — Restaurant in Western Australia

I'm not usually inclined to leave reviews for bad service but my treatment by one particular blonde girl wearing glasses stood out as horrible. This is a shame as all the other staff were lovely.

We were met by this girl at the door who asked us if we wanted a table for two. I told her we were joining our family who I pointed to at back. She asked how many the table was for which I didn't know off the top of my head so I gave her a name I thought the booking might be under, to which she raised her voice saying the restaurant doesn't do bookings. Eventually she sent someone to make sure we were with our family. This was weird but not distressing on its own. Later when we were ordering at the counter, the same girl singled us out and ordered us to move out of the walkway, doing big, sarcastic gestures at the floor as if there were some invisible lines I wasn't seeing. We were at the front of the line and in my opinion not blocking any walkway. She didn't ask any of the other groups behind us to move who were in a position to form a neater queue.

I work in hospitality myself and understand when to let things go if people are having a bad day, but this was much more aggressive and targeted than that. Again, the food and all the other staff had great vibes, but this one particular person made the experience very uncomfortable. Good not great. I paid $34 for a double with fries and garlic mayo and a beer. The burger wasn’t that good. There was a bit of a Que. I waited about 15-20 mins to order then another 30 for my buzzer to go off which is completely understandable as they were clearly very busy. The fries are AMAZING. They were probably the best Uber ever had. Crispy and soft and seasoned to perfection. I wish I could say the same about the rest of it. I was expecting a well seasoned tasty burger but that’s not what I got. I was just bland. All I could taste were the sauces, pickles and cheese. The beef didn’t have any flavour. It just needed some salt. The bacon was a bit burnt which I don’t mind as I like the char flavour buc can understand people not enjoying this. Lastly the garlic mayo. It was way too thick. I’m guessing they make it in house. The flavour is all there but it’s not enjoyable to eat. I needs to be let down with a bit of waters at first I thought it was just too cold but even after letting to warm up the texture wasn’t good. It’s closer to a solid that an emulsion. I have been coming here for quite some time and I am a regular customer at least once a week. Today I ordered my usual classic burger but got one in which the meat had gone off and it had a bad smell. So I returned it and they made me another one. The second one didnt have a bad smell so I ate it but I have had an upset stomach and diarreah since 3pm. This has never happened to me before. I am not sure if they are serving the left over meat from unsold burgers from the 2 for 1 promotion they had on 1 May (today is 3rd May). Today my burger was cooked by a young, short male person, not the usual team that cooks here. I am changing my review of this outlet to a 1 star.
