Learn moreThe place has an eclectic and trendy feel and I had heard great things about this place before coming here. We were a little late for our booking and the entry was swamped as it appeared several other people had chosen the same place for a reservations for after the show across the road at the Regal theatre. Service and first order took awhile because of this, but is understandable because of the influx of people at the time of booking. The smell in the place is amazing, and filled with the murmur of happy chatty dinners. The tables, be them attractive looking, tidy and clean, didn't have the most comfortable of chairs, so I guess it's so you don't settle in for the night. And now to the food- the entree -chutney Mary vege platter. Firstly the Paneer is gorgeous and silky, the touches off deep fried okra was fantastic and a great complimentary flavour. And the vegetables were flavoursome. The samosa was rich and had the right amount of spice. I usually judge Indian restaurants by their onion bhajis, on this occasion they weren't the pinnacle of the chutney Mary vege platter. They would not be a selection I would put on my bill for the next visit. Don't get me wrong the dish as a whole is fantastic. The mains - Kadhai paneer -it had a smokiness about it from the charing of the vegetables and had enough heat that was warmly welcomed. The flavour was rich and complex. A great dish and would highly recommend, my partner loved it. Lamb Rogan Josh - the flavour was Cardomon strong with whole spices to be found, but not excessively. The gravy again was rich and deep with all that a good Rogan Josh should have. I loved it, one of the better ones I've had for sometime. breads- The garlic naans were plentiful and nice and garlic was prominent. They weren't too oily as I have experienced elsewhere. The final say - this is a great restaurant that produces quality Indian meals and located in Subi. I would recommend as a great option if you like Indian cuisine. Price range in the upper bracket, but you get what you pay for....

Not one to normally give 1 star but it was pretty bad. FYI the entire time we were there, the restaurant was only about 25% full, never more.
Waited 30 minutes for our entrees to come. They were mid at best, got the garlic naan, keema naan and lamb ki seekh. Garlic naan smells like garlic but there was no garlic taste to it. Keema naan was alright, definitely had spices but whether or not it has lamb? Questionable. Lamb ki seekh was alright, tasted alright but very small and the mint dipping sauce that came with it didn't taste like mint at all.
We took about 10 minutes between ordering our entrees and mains, yet it took about 1 hour for our mains to come out. We ordered the Chutney Mary's Special Banquets which came with entrees and mains. The banquet's entree took about 20 minutes to come out, which was an improvement. Chicken tikka was almost tasteless, tender but quite on the tasteless side. Lamb cutlet was the best thing we had that night. The seekh kebab was the same as above.
And then the wait for our banquet mains began. We actually had to call one of the waitress to see if our food is still coming, and she said she will check the kitchen. That was about 40 mins since our banquet entrees. Then she came back to take our entree plates and asked if we are ready for our mains, which was weird because we literally just asked if our mains are coming, but we said yes anyway. The most frustrating thing was that, it still took them 15-20 minutes to get our food out even though the waitress asked us if we are ready for our mains, like what is the point of that?
Not worth at all. For $55 we got 3 shared entrees and 3 shared mains. They were small. If it weren't because of the fact that we had an extra serving of entrees, we would still be hungry at the end.
The only actual good thing on the menu was the mango lassi. But it wasn't enough to make this...

I also tried to give you Zero Stars but the Google Review system won't let me. So think positively, at least you get 20% which is more than you deserve.
I'll post your reply below so you can spare yourself the effort.
And no is the answer from all of your customers who can be bothered to actually write a review. They will not give you a second chance. Although doubtless you will keep saying the same thing! Look up Einstein's definition of insanity....
I paid $40 for samosas and a chicken curry. I think that is probably the most expensive dine-in curry I have had in Perth so I was expecting something great. My expectations were not met.
But congratulations to you as a business owner though. You're clearly charging high prices for third rate dishes so I am sure you're making out like a bandit on your profit margins!!
Here's your response so you can save yourself the effort of pasting it and me the effort of re-reading it:
Response from the owner: Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but I really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. We're really sorry you had a bad experience but we hope you'll give us a second...
