Solid Irish-themed restaurant and bar. The bar area is lovely and adds most of the ambiance to the place. There's also a nice fireplace. Cash, credit cards and probably e-wallet payments accepted. Prices seem fairly typical for Perth. Order everything at the bar and pay for it and they'll bring it to your table. A couple of couches, high tables and bar stools and a few booths for seating. One large TV tuned to whatever game is most appealing.
Great place for a pint of whatever you fancy. Good selection of beers on tap as well as one hard cider. Magner's cider also available by the bottle. Relatively full bar with an understandable emphasis on Irish whisky. Staff is friendly but seems a bit overworked.
Food is fine - nothing exotic, but nothing terrible either. The burger was tasty and the bun held up well to the contents. The chicken parmigiana was pretty straightforward. I didn't see it mentioned on the menu but both come with french fries and the chicken parmi comes with a side salad as well. If I'd known that I wouldn't have ordered a side of cheesy truffle fries as well! The fries are very good - well salted/seasoned and fairly crisp.
The ambiance lacks the intimacy of a real pub but there's only so much you can do with a pre-defined space that's rather huge. On the plus side, there's lots of seating and it looks easy enough for then to accommodate larger groups on special...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was staying in East Perth and being a Monday night, there werenāt that many options open for dinner. As I donāt mind the odd Guinness, thought Iād give Fenianās a go at the Novotel hotel.
It looked pretty nice when I walked in and as it was only 5:30, it was pretty quiet. The bar was set up well and had a great selection of beers on tap. Didnāt end up having the Guinness as I didnāt want to be too full for dinner so just settled for one of the WA local brews, pretty tasty I have to say (canāt remember the nameā¦and I only had one! š)
For eats, I ordered the chicken parmy and it was a decent size. The side salad and chips were good and even though the chicken was a decent thickness, it was pretty tough and chewy. Maybe it was premade and deep-fried but it definitely wasnāt cooked fresh. Still filled the hole though.
A couple of groups arrived while I was there and they all seemed to be enjoying their meals, maybe I just got a dud. š¤·āāļø
Iād still go back if I was in the area again, Iād just try something...
