We've heard from a few people recently that this place is good so thought we'd give it a try. Sadly though we had a very disappointing experience.

We didn't get off to a good start. Table wasn't cleared until we asked and even then the young girl took a few dishes and didn't return for the rest or to clean the table. We asked another waitress who waved a dish cloth over one corner of the table and left before we could object.

I ordered the Buddha bowl which sounded quite delicious with a variety of tastes and textures. What arrived couldn't have been more disappointing. Huge boring chunks of plain cauliflower and sweet potato (not roasted and caramelized like I expected), dry lukewarm falafel that seemed as if it'd been precooked and microwaved, a few other very average bits and bobs and 2 items that were stated on the menu just completely missing.

My husband and son's hamburger and fish and chips were OK but nothing to get too excited about.

I usually try not to be so negative but there's really very little to praise and it's so disappointing to spend $80 of your hard earned cash on something so bad.

I'd bore you if I continued to go on about the service but it really was very poor. We did mention all this to the boss but all he really said was that it's hard to get good staff this time of year (??!).

Next time we'll stick to Embers (10x better), Mason and Bird, Pere Bakery etc.

Sorry, not impressed and...

Very bad customer service. Food was tasty. We decided to try Kalamunda Tap house for the first time today 01/11/24. When we entered the restaurant, we weren’t attended to by any of the staff. The restaurant was not busy at all. A lot of the tables still had dirty dishes on it that was not cleared while the staff was chatting to each other and not busy at all. We wanted to sit at an outside table, both outside tables had dirty dishes on it, I had to approach the staff to ask them to clean the table. As it ended up being too windy outside we moved to an inside table, which also wasn’t cleared of dishes from previous patrons. No one mentioned the chef’s specials for the night. I only by chance saw it but after we already ordered our meal of the menu. My partner went up to the bar to order and pay for our meal. When he asked the female staff member a question, she answered with sarcastic comment. I would suggest that the manager/owner provide some training to staff on good customer service and restaurant...

Went for lunch today (16th April) - beautiful day so perfect for some WA crafted beers. We ordered the Chilli Grilled squid (very tasty and definitely a must next time) - we did order a pizza and I highly recommend NOT to order (in spite of the base looking like it was made on premises - it was super thin and tasteless - topping did try to make up for the loss of substance but unsuccessfully). I would recommend for Management to invest in a Pizza Base course for the kitchen Team - pizzas are a great revenue earner for establishments (having worked in restaurants in the past) - quite frankly, $25 for a paper thin base and some pesto trails around a field of halved tomatoes is a bit rich!! (we ended up eating the pizza since we were hungry as and didn't want to wait any longer for another dish). Somewhat disappointed by the young waiter charging me wrongly for the beers (paid cash) and I had to remind him to give me the correct change (which I left as tip anyway) - the place wasn't busy at all (1pm...

This was a very welcoming place, from The moment we walked in, we were greeted and told to choose any table that was available. Nice decor, there is a balcony but all these tables were taken. My son ordered the cheeseburger for $17- he said it was nice but was more of a slider and he felt very hungry still. My daughter ordered the fish and chips for $19- the fish was amazing, she was pretty happy. Again slightly overpriced. My husband ordered the Nasi Goreng for $26, he said it was pretty nice but then was too salty and unable to eat all of it. We gave this feedback to the service staff who were very receptive and said they would pass on to the chef. I ordered the phat Buddha bowl for $29, it was delicious, albeit a little overpriced. The tasting paddle was $30 for 6 tasters- pretty nice brew.

Have been coming to the Tap House for a few years now and can easily say that we have never had a bad meal or experience. The food is incredible having had most of items on the menu, things like the bao buns and burgers are an easy go-to. There is never a long wait for food even when you can tell that it is very busy plus it always arrives hot and fresh. My partner is always spoilt for choice with the craft beers with such a great variety on offer. The staff are always friendly and welcome you in with a smile, it truely is one of my favourite venues in Perth. We travel from Duncraig just for the Tap House knowing that we will have a great meal and leave well and truely happy. Thanks Tap House
