Old Mates Cafe — Restaurant in Western Australia

So disappointing! My partner an I were welcomed to a dirty table which we had reserved. There were crumbs and coffee stains on the table top. Our menus were dirty and sticky. I ordered salmon and eggs on toast. If your expected standard of scrambled eggs are that they are hot, buttery and fluffy, then do not go to Old Mates for your scrambled egg fix. My eggs came out dry, crumbly and questionably out of a packet. They offer a side of spinach and tomato relish with this dish, the spinach isn’t even wilted, it’s straight out of a packet and just as dry and bland as the eggs. The tomato relish was more of a purée which lacked any sign of life from an actual tomato…the venue is filled with blow flies and a half arsed attempt of fake plant garlands everywhere you look. First we sat at a table and they were all dirty with crumbs we ordered got half the meals and First they missed a kids meal I had to remind them there was two kids meals. So they went and made that while one child was finishing theirs. Then they missed my mums croissant then they said I didn’t order it and said they will even give me the receipt docket as proof that it wasn’t ordered. (We ordered 4 meals all up) I asked for a copy of the docket and they asked me to sit down and as we were leaving brought us the croissant (that I DID order )out completely ignoreing me and give it to someone else I was with… No apology or anything. was soooo horrible!! Easy free 1 hour parking out the front and booths to sit in! The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my fussy ordering. Kids meals are available but nothing on the menu. They are going to update soon. I had the Big breakfast and was a little surprised that the Spinach was straight out of the bag and cold. My sausages were also very well done and hard. Eggs, bacon and tomato were good. My mum enjoyed her breakfast burger and my son liked his pancakes.
