We have been coming here since the place opened and now its becoming more and more obvious after being sold to signature group the new management influence it becoming apparent. We have now had the third bad experience here in around a month , yes we regularly come here. Arrived to see a sea of glasses on the end of the counter and this is at 0500pm and in no way busy Thursday. this was an ominous sign of things to come. Ordered two kids meals , a soul burger and a mcfly. burgers came out and one of the kids meals was missing. the lady told us she would be straight back , we never saw her again... hubbies mcfly was actually missing the bbq sauce and the jalapenos! the jalapenos are a major part of the burger , as per the photo the bun was dry at the bottom where the sauce and jalapenos go! the soul burger chicken was thin and dry. Spoke to a girl at the counter to ask to see a manager as the kids meal still hadn't come out, she stated she was one of a few managers on site ... ?? (a few managers and still this happens ? as well as clearing the main bar of dirty glass towers?)she also told us front of house have no influence what happens in the kitchen ??? she arranged a replacement of the mcfly didn't offer any replacement on the soul and what came out can only be described as a F#$K you burger!(and finally the last kids meal arrives ) there was this tower of three tiny onion rings , the skewer was shoved so hard down into the burger the pickle had snapped in half and on the bottom was this sea of sauce and like 20 jalapenos ! All hubby wanted for our 26 bucks was a mcfly not this. Was so soggy took 2 bites and decided to leave. After all these years we are finally done , not coming back to this mess. Today both wife and I felt something had changed about the burger patties not as refined maybe more chunky and our daughters didn't like them as much. then we noticed they had burgers that are pink still! we don't ever remember getting pink burgers and its something we don't like! if we wanted screaming raw burgers we would go to Brixton Yard in Maylands. We informed the guy that came to clear our table and he went off to check because he didn't know ? he came back and said the kitchen told him the burgers are meant to be pink in the middle !!! Nope don't think so. PLEASE varsity don't go down the raw mince meat burger rabbit hole. If I wanted steak tartare I would not come to Varsity to get my raw mince meat fix. Someone has changed something in the kitchen and don't want to have to make sure when we come there we have to now request burgers that are cooked not half raw. not to mention they have changed the mince process and added more gristle / lumpy fat content.*Edit * after returning a few weeks later and running into Leith who runs things regularly here , he went out of his way to make things right and we have returned…. I have to say if he is on shift I feel really happy we have someone on deck that cares for the paying customer and will correct the issues. Thanks for restoring the faith varsity morley leith ! Read moreI tend not to write reviews as like to give the venue opportunity to respond and want to support local businesses. However after Varsity’s response I feel I have to. I recently visited Morley Varsity after not being there a while and was really disappointed. It’s become run down and it felt unclean and whilst it was really busy can make a little allowance for this. Also parking is really bad due to no car park at the back anymore. On top of this I got food poisoning which resulted in missing the last 30 minutes of the movie I went to watch after. Such a disappointing evening and when I raised this (my first time ever of reporting it) their response was initially apologies for the delay but wanted to do conduct a thorough investigation into their food, hygiene processes and found no concerns or any other reports. However, this was an incorrect location which I pointed out. Their next response was sent very soon after my reply with literally the same response. This now makes me feel very concerned about their “thorough investigation” and in my opinion have not taken this report seriously. I also felt they did not believe me. On top of this standard fluffy marketing response I feel they have no concern for my health or other paying customers and no empathy for a ruined evening. They’ve lost me as a customer which is such a shame as have had some wonderful experiences here. Hope you don’t have the same...
