I feel like everybody's stereotypical Lebanese grandmother would be so disappointed that you didn't feed us enough. Most of the food was under salted, to the point where we didn't feel like it could be accidental. Everyone eating that batch was missing out that night. The babaganoush was especially flavorless, perhaps missing tahini, roasted eggplant lemon, and salt. (Haha, but seriously, there's not much else to put in there) Portions for the shared dinner were very small, the meat was exceptionally small for two people, and overall just not a good value. We ate all the bread so we didn't have to go get a second dinner. These are all choices that the chef gets to make when designing a menu, but I would not return. We had to chase down the waitress a few times to get our wine glasses refilled. At this price point I would expect eager attention to keep wine glasses full. The garden is beautiful and the wines we tried were of...
Read moreWe chose this place quite randomly, as we were hungry after a long trip, and were disappointed in the end. Just a minute after ordering we realized that this will be actual chicken wings, and not the usual shawarma, which consists of thinly sliced meat. We asked if we can change the order, but apparently the kitchen already started preparing it, so we were only give the option to add anything on top, so we chose the Levante ragout. While I understand the response from the waiter, this was not a great customer experience. We didn't quite like the food, even though we are familiar with the Middle Eastern flavours. We found this place to be expensive for the...
Read moreOn the face of it this place is good, however there is a large gap in the market for Levant food in Graz, meaning little competition and it shows in Hummel’s offer. The quality of the food is ok, but the price is far too high for what you get (€35-40 for a load of fridge cold dips/salads and an overboiled cauliflower), and most of it is ready prepared and comes straight from the fridge (e.g. tasty but too cold tabouleh).
It’s also a bit too slick and makes one long for I capperi, which was formerly in its location. You wouldn’t get away with charging these prices for this food in Vienna, but then again we are in Graz so here we are. The draft beer...
