Restaurant SCHLOSSBERG — Restaurant in Graz

I went there for both dinner and the "GRENZENLOS Brunchen" event. As far as high-class restaurants in Graz go, this is one of my favorites. It is quite expensive, but I think it has a very good cost to benefit ratio. The quality of the food and the service are excellent and - in my opinion - leave nothing to be desired.

I can highly recommend the "GRENZENLOS Brunchen" event both for yourself and as a gift for your loved ones or family. I was one of the lucky ones who got it as a gift. You will enjoy a great brunch overlooking the old town rooftops of Graz.

Over the course of four hours, I think we had a total of 11 courses, starting with the breakfast dishes, which seamlessly transitioned into the lunch dishes. You are also asked if you want more than one plate of a course, but for me one was plenty. Coffee and drinks (except liquor) are included in the price and refilled as soon as they reach the bottom of the glass.

Of course, this has its price. 89,- € per person is not everyone's cup of tea, but I can only recommend to try it, because it is a very extraordinary experience, which you do not...

I have been there recently because it was exactly the place where I’ve wished to propose to my girlfriend since 4 years ago! It turned out to be a very good decision and we’ve both loved our time spent there. The service was extremely friendly and the food was exquisite (please try the steak, it is maybe on the pricy side, but it is incredible). To be noted that the waiters were more than happy to help me with my little “romantic” plans and communicating with them in advance worked wonders! We ended up ordering a three course dinner and every single dish proved to be a delicious journey: from the appetizer brought from the house trough the fish soup, the steaks (best of beef) and the sweet threats, everything was delicious. And the views… we got a table with the panorama over Graz. We will be more than happy to return here, hopefully sooner than later 😆 I don’t understand the negative feedback some people leave for this restaurant as it is clearly one of the very few fine...

Bittere Erfahrung. Von der Reservierung über den Empfang, das Service und die Qualität der Speisen negativ. Ausblick genial, das war's. Für rund 100 Euro (Aperitiv, Hauptspeise, 1 Getränk p.P.) erwarte ich etwas mehr. Den Platz zu erhalten war trotz bestätigter Buchung ein Zufall. Zwar nach dem Namen gefragt, Reservierung aber nicht geprüft. Man wollte uns auch in den Biergarten verfrachten, obwohl Restaurant mit speziellem Platz gebucht. Dass ich bewusst in das Restaurant gehe, wurde wohl wissentlich übersehen. Ein anderes Paar wiederum wurde gegen den Wunsch ins Restaurant "geschleppt". Dann aber wieder umgesiedelt. Tisch nicht vorbereitet, musste erst gereinigt werden. Langes Warten auf den Aperitiv, noch länger auf das Gedeck (€ 4,50) bzw. den Gruß aus der Küche. Großartige Zusammenstellung ohne Geschmack. Lavendelbutter ist stark salzig ohne Lavendel. Äußerst unpraktisches Geschirr, keine Aufteilung auf Personen - auch im Nachgang bei nicht zwingend teilbaren Speisen. Für mich sollte es Steak sein - die Karte erfordert ob der Definition Beratung (Dry oder Wet aged, verschieden Fleischsorten). "Ich benötige Beratung" wurde mit "ich habe 170 oder 400 Gramm" beantwortet. Kein weiteres Wort, außer 250 Gramm sind machbar. Und "rare" durfte ich mit auf den Weg geben. Das Personal ist aufgesetzt freundlich, sehr aufgesetzt. Ungemein störend, auch von den Nachbartischen. Die zubereiteten Rinderfiletspitzen sehen gut aus, sind jedoch zur Hälfte von schlechter Qualität und bleiben am Teller. Der Salat ("Blattsalat habe ich"...) - € 10,- wurde vergessen. So auch mein Steakmesser (wurde nach Beginn der Mahlzeit getauscht) und die gewünschte Garstufe. Aber richtig präsentiert ("...ihr medium-rare". Hatte ich nicht bestellt. "Entschuldigung, falsch gesagt, ist rare".) War es nicht...sondern eher medium. Kein Tropfen Blut, kein einziger. Die kleine Bratkartoffel lt. Karte ist klein. Extrem fade mit Schafskäse und Schnittlauch, welchen ich nicht gefunden habe. Das Eierschwammerltatar in seiner Winzigkeit nebst marinierten Zucchinistreifchen konnte geschmacklich nichts retten. Das Fleischstück selbst war OK, jedoch völlig ohne Geschmack. Keine Röstaromen, kein Salz, kein Pfeffer. Gefragt wurde danach nicht, am Tisch ob Corona ja nicht verfügbar. Noch nie ein derart fades Steak gegessen. Am besten geschmeckt hat der Salat - obwohl die 10 fache Menge Dressing dran war. Wahrscheinlich auch deshalb der stolze Preis von 10,- Euro. Zeit meines Lebens um viel weniger Geld viel besser gegessen. Es sollte ein besonderer Abend werden - ging voll daneben. Keine Empfehlung,...
