We recently visited the Marktbeisel zur Ruth with our family, including our children, and had a very unpleasant experience. My father politely asked for some butter for his bread roll, which unfortunately wasn’t available—something that wouldn’t have been a problem for us. When we kindly asked the waitress for the reason, she responded in a very rude and snippy manner. This embarrassing scene took place right in the middle of the marketplace, leaving us deeply ashamed. After a brief but unpleasant discussion, we left the restaurant disappointed.
We have never encountered such rude service before. We strongly advise all tourists to avoid this place! Fortunately, we later found the Schirmbar, where the staff was extremely friendly and attentive—and they...
Read moreWe came to Hallstatt in one of the rather good days when it wasn't chilling cold but yet bit gloomy and wet especially towards evening as mountain clouds started layering over the town. At the time when we already froze we happened to hit this small cafe place, and I have to say it was a win choice! The place is tiny, but the space is very well compensated by being super-warm, having simple but delicious pizza and the most friendly and charming waitress girl. On top of that the bill was very affordable. So,...
Read moreI had a very bad experience because one of the waitresses complained me loudly that I didn't say hello before taking the order. She was also very impatient when I asked her about the drinking. Maybe the reason is that I am one of the Asian tourists who distrub their peaceful lifestyles. But as a customer who is not a native English speaker, sometimes we will forget saying hello. Or let's say at least I think that a smile can cover the greetings. I am disappointed even though the pizza...
