Our stay at the Central hotel- Innsbruck was marred by several issues, and I feel compelled to share our unpleasant experience.
Upon our arrival, we were shocked to discover that the hotel had unilaterally upgraded our room without any prior notice. This was a major problem for us, as we had specific accessibility requirements due to my son's wheelchair. The new room they provided required climbing up to the bed, which was impossible for my son to manage.
We had, in fact, informed the hotel of our accessibility needs via email in advance of our stay, and this information was completely disregarded. Instead of addressing our concerns and trying to rectify the situation, the hotel staff flatly refused to give us our originally booked room, which met our specific requirements. This lack of accommodation was both disheartening and unacceptable.
What's worse, the staff's attitude was nothing short of appalling. Rather than showing empathy and professionalism, they engaged in a heated argument and tried to threaten us. This type of behavior is entirely incompatible with the level of service one expects from a reputable establishment.
As paying customers, we anticipated a respectful and customer-centric approach from the Central Hotel. However, our experience was marred by neglect, an utter disregard for our pre-communicated needs, and an aggressive response when we sought assistance.
It's regrettable to say that our stay was a severe disappointment, and we strongly caution anyone, especially with accessibility needs, against booking a stay here. We believe it's essential to share our experience to prevent others from enduring the same mistreatment and frustration that we encountered during our stay...
Read moreMy boyfriend, my family, and I visited this café on October 9th to try some traditional Viennese pastries and coffee. The atmosphere is lovely (classic Viennese style) and the food was very good. We ordered Palatschinken, Topfenstrudel, and Marmorkuchen, all of which were delicious. The prices are reasonable for Austria.
Unfortunately, the experience was spoiled when it came time to pay. Two waiters called me to the counter and presented the card machine with a total that already included a €5 tip (on a €27 bill) saying that “the tip isn’t included” and that they had “made this price for us,” while laughing and joking with each other. This felt quite disrespectful and unprofessional. Thankfully, I noticed and corrected it, and still left a smaller tip out of courtesy, but if this kind of behavior happens again, I won’t leave...
Read moreGreat breakfast or brunch option very close to the town centre. Food portions are really good and reasonably priced, however they do charge separately for pieces of butter and jam which I found strange but it might be a normal thing in Austria.
I would recommend making a reservation in advance (at least the day before). We went two mornings in a row and both days the café was full of people. We were lucky that people left as we entered and we managed to get their table.
Service is good except that you might have to wait a bit to get a waiter to take your order after getting seated as they seem to be a little understaffed. After ordering, our coffees and food arrived very quickly. The staff are very friendly and professional.
Would highly recommend to stop here for breakfast or brunch and would...
