For starters, they have an English menu for the drinks and food. There is no English menu for the specials, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind translating.
The food is about the same price as a burger at Chilis or Ruby Tuesday. Ranges from €8-€10. At the time of third review the exchange rate is about €10=$10.60, so it's easy to compare prices. Unfortunately, the sides cost extra, so I guess it's more of a Cheeseburger Charlie's type joint.
I noticed a lot of tables had reservation cards, but they were more than happy to assist me in finding a table.
The server recommended a good beer. I was happy with the taste of this beer.
The meal I ordered was the Ludwig. They allowed me to order the meal without coleslaw and even gave me a chance to add an ingredient to replace it. I was given the option to choose the temperature and I went with medium.
I ordered onion rings as my side because I wanted to put them in the burger. It just seemed like right thing to do.
The meal came out quickly. The burger was thick and the pulled pork was formed into a patty, as if to emulate a crab cake. This seemed logical to keep the entire mass from crumbling at the first bite.
Speaking of the first bite, the meat was juicy and flavorful. Not to mention, they got the temperature correct.
Back pedaling a bit; I won't eat a burger without mayonnaise unless it has some kind of other delicious sauce on it. This is true first time in my entire life that I have seen mayo already on the table. Usually, I have to flag down a server and ask for it.
Everything about this burger was perfect. The bread was lovely, the meat extended beyond the bread just enough that you wouldn't be left with a lonely chunk of bread for the last bite. The lettuce was fresh and dark green. They didn't give me any white lettuce or stalks.
The only thing I was maybe 50% disappointed in was the onion rings. They were more like tempura onions. The coating could have been cooked a bit longer to create a stronger crisp and reduce the oil taste. That's why I left one ring behind. I abandoned him when he needed me most. What am I going to tell his family?
Overall, this is a really good restaurant with quality food. If you like gourmet...

When we arrived at 4.30 we were told only 2 very awkwardly placed tables in the middle of a mostly empty restaurant were available until 6. Everything else would be needed sooner and so we could not possibly sit anywhere else. Throughout our atrocious meal (we stayed until 5.45) I can confirm nobody came in to sit in the supposedly reserved other seats that we asked if we could sit in.
The waitress, a young woman with short brown hair and a terrible attitude, seemed to be inconvenienced by our custom. When she came to collect our plates she said done yes and took them from under us without even waiting for us to respond. Not to mention she never once used positive language, said enjoy your meal or even thanked us upon paying or leaving.
Worst of all, she came to clean a table next to us and instead of spraying the antibacterial spray onto the table directly or on the cloth she chose to spray it at an angle so it landed directly on our arms closest to her and our food. To say we were shocked is an understatement.
When we got up to leave she was coming towards us and shouted “Achtung!!” in a loud, aggressive and obnoxious manner. No excuse me, no oops sorry! But this was not surprising giving the previous 60 minutes.
We had the classic burger and Ludwig special along with handmade chips and cocktail sauce. The handmade chips were lovely and the classic burger - not bad! But it ended there. The Ludwig burger supposedly came with pulled pork but was served with a Grey tuna like imposter that tasted appallingly. The cocktail sauce was lumpy and not mixed together.
We were really looking forward to having our last meal here as we had heard such great things about this place but we were unbelievably horrified. Never have we experienced such bad service.
At least when we left a young man smiled and thanked us and wished us a good day, it’s a pity the waitress tainted the place to such a shocking degree. Management definitely need to speak with this member of staff about...
Read moreLooks good tastes bad - this is the short story. We will not come to this place again.
First time ever for us that an experience started as a 5 and ended as a 1. The sad thing is that not only was the food bad but the service is sub par. To be frank I have no idea how this place got so many good reviews - save your many and eat some were else.
We ordered 2 burgers - the bacon onion and the pulled meat, both were disappointing. The bacon one arrived with a horrible smell and my girlfriend refused to eat it, the meet was dry, the bun was dry and the taste was bad. The pulled meat tasted better but meat was dry, way over salted and a dry bun.
The home made fries were horrible, badly prepared (some not cocked enough some overcocked) The onion rings - were a flop, not cocked enough and the doo/panco they used was pale and did not have any taste at all.
The best thing we ate was the salad - which is quite sad for a burger place.
The service was poor, no one asked us if the food was ok, no one brought us wet napkins or napkins as they should always do when you are close to finishing your dish, and they did not bring tooth picks we had to ask for them, maybe we are used to better service standards but I think these are the basics.
Any way after wasting 50 euros on eating here I can say with confidence that we will not...
