Good day, I strongly recommend the restaurant. We visited it with my wife beginning of February, Friday evening for a dinner- around 6-7 p.m. We had a chance to be there a year ago more or less the same time of the year. The atmosphere and service is very good. Waiters are always very helpful and you do not need to wait long for a food. The fit out reminds a local (Tirol) Guesthouse, but with a bit of elegance. There are at least 2-3 rooms to choose, so you can take it either for a lunch/dinner with all family including kids or for a bit more private dinner with wife. We had starter and main dish. As for the starter we took:
Tartar from fish- absolutely astonishing- year by year we try it and were never disappointed. Local white wine is MUST BE! Speckknudel- the same- simply great taste with good quality of ingredients BUT it is heavy staff, so either beer or "stronger" one :).
The main dishes:
Kasspatzln - one of the best in the city I need to say. Intensive test, but still possible to be digested, Cordon Blue- good quality of ingredients and tasty one.
We had glass of beer and 2 glasses of local white wine (I guess it was Riesling). The bill was about 60-70EUR, what would be recognized as high for this quality of place, but I would like to tell that it is really fair. For those who are in Innsbruck 1st time or had no chance to be in this restaurant till now, I recommend to start your trip in the town from the dinner in this venue. Believe me the happiness and joy you get will spread all over your stay in...
Read moreTonight was a busy night in the city. So we were not surprised that the restaurant was full. However, instead of just telling us that they were full, we got an: "okay I'll check for you guys where you can sit, and I'll come back for you." We waited 10 minutes, tried to make eye contact with some other waiters, but got ignored. Then there came a group of 4 people inside of the restaurant who apparently knew the staff and where Immediatly greeted by the staff while we were still waiting. The waiter who would be looking for a table for two for us came back with another waiter, who also greeted the family who had just entered the restaurant. She told them that they could follow her because they had a "reservation", while it was obvious that they hadn't because the family them self said that they hadn't made a reservation. She also made it really clear in how she spoke that they had a "reservation." The family was thanking her for the reservation, which made it even more obvioust that they hadn't made a reservation. While they got seated at the table, the first waiter came back to us and told us that the restaurant was full. While he made sure that the family was getting seated and knew that we were waiting for way...
Read moreFlabbergasted by the service provided by the staff at Goldenes Dachl. We entered the restaurant around 1pm. Waiters were impatient and rude, rushing us to get our orders in, giving us a menu in German knowing fully well we were tourists. We had to grab the menus in English on our own at the side of the tables.
Shocking that the items we wanted to order were BOTH out of stock - the Backhendl & Schweinbraten. We instead settled for 2 mains - the Cordon Bleu & Fisch Graupe.
The food was decent, but nothing special. I was away in the washroom when a family member settled the bill. It was only upon checking the receipt days after (my bad) that I realised they charged us for the additional Backhendl at €19.80 (which they mentioned was out of stock and thus did not serve to us - THEY DID NOT REMOVE IT FROM OUR BILL). Furthermore, they included a compulsory 7.5% tip in the bill that we could not refuse since it was already computed in the final amount.
To future visitors, please make sure to check your bill before paying, and to ensure to tip according to what the service team deserves. While I’m certain I won’t be back, I encourage other tourists to explore other eating options...
