Disappointing and Potentially Discriminatory Experience. I wish I could give this restaurant a rating below one star. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not reading reviews before visiting, and my experience here ended up ruining what should have been a pleasant day trip to Innsbruck.
From the moment I arrived, the service was unfriendly and cold, particularly from an older waitress who made me feel very unwelcome. I initially asked if there were any indoor tables available, and she responded abruptly that indoor seating was closed—then walked away without allowing me to ask anything further.
Trying to be understanding, I assumed she might be busy or that this might just be a cultural difference in communication. But when I later asked about available outdoor seating, I had to go out of my way to find her again. The attitude remained the same—impatient and dismissive.
While I was trying to read the German menu, she handed me an English one in a rushed and irritated manner. I asked which dishes were served warm, but she shook her head and walked away, saying everything was already written in English. I had to ask again before she finally gave an answer.
What made the experience worse was noticing a clear difference in how she interacted with other customers. She was noticeably warmer and smiled when serving white guests. In contrast, she seemed irritated toward me. I felt disappointed by her attitude—especially because I had expected people here to be polite and well-educated.
After finishing my meal, I tried to get her attention to pay, but she ignored me. Eventually, I approached her myself. When I attempted to pay by card and it didn’t work on the first try, she grabbed the card from my hand and inserted it herself. When it still didn’t work, she snapped at me to pay in cash, saying, "You have cash in your wallet," in an aggressive tone.
When I asked why she was treating me this way, she said it was due to work stress. However, after reading similar reviews from other Asian customers online, I can’t help but feel that her hostility was racially motivated.

Read moreThe witness in this restaurant is so rude and racist. I went to this restaurant on 29.12.24 around 5 pm. She gave us a table for 3 people in the middle. Since there was no people other than us, we decided to move the table beside window to see the street view of Golden Roof. There was no reservation card on the table. When she found of us, she suddenly screamed as "I gave you this table. What did you do? Why did you move? Where are you come from? If you are not ok with the table, you can leave!" This is not totally the kind of service what I expected from pricey Austrian Traditional Restaurant. She can communicate with better manners by explaining that table has reservation. She should do her job of putting reservation card before. And, there is no reason to ask where we come from with look down attitude.
Although we are uncomfortable with her bad behaviours, we chose to taste the local food. The goulash did not come with bread although it should be as described in the menu. I have no idea if she did that intentionally or not. We need to ask for the bread. At the end, we were given the bill and asked to leave with the reason of other people were waiting. Sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung in diesem Café. Wir suchten nach einem gemütlichen Ort, um einen Tee zu trinken und Kaiserschmarrn zu geniessen. Leider wurden wir hier jedoch äusserst unhöflich behandelt.
Wir entschieden uns, draussen Platz zu nehmen, da wir unseren Hund dabei hatten und andere Gäste nicht stören wollten. Kaum hatten wir uns hingesetzt, wurden wir von einer Frau von der Bedienung lautstark angeschrien. Sie liess uns wissen, dass sie uns sicherlich nicht bedienen würde und auch nicht an uns vorbeigehen werde.
Dieses Verhalten war unangebracht und demütigend. Als zahlende Gäste und verantwortungsbewusste Hundehalter haben wir uns nichts Derartiges verdient. Es ist enttäuschend zu sehen, dass dieses Café Hundehalter nicht willkommen heisst und solche negativen Vorurteile gegenüber uns hegt. Diese Art von Kundenservice ist inakzeptabel und hat uns das Gefühl gegeben, nicht willkommen zu sein. Anstatt eine angenehme Atmosphäre zu schaffen, wurden wir öffentlich blossgestellt und gedemütigt.
Ein Ort, der solch einen Kundenservice bietet und Gäste öffentlich blossstellt, verdient keine positive Empfehlung. Ich hoffe, dass das Café diese Angelegenheit ernst nimmt und entsprechende Schritte unternimmt, um sicherzustellen, dass andere Hundehalter und Gäste nicht ähnlich behandelt werden.
Ich kann dieses Café aufgrund meiner Erfahrung nicht weiterempfehlen und werde nicht mehr zurückkehren. Es ist bedauerlich, dass ein einzelnes Ereignis den Gesamteindruck trübt, aber der Umgang mit Kunden sollte vorbildlich sein.
